About this listen

Stefan March lives for a good time. Born into wealth, he sees everything in terms of what he can have, especially women. So far, life has denied him nothing and no one. When he meets his newest bartender, he instantly knows who his next conquest will be, but Shay's not like the usual women he collects. To get her, he'll have to be more than just the player he's always been.

Shay Callahan is beautiful, determined, and intelligent. She's got plans for her life, and they don't include getting sidetracked by a man, and certainly not her wealthy player boss. Her job at Club X is for one thing - money to fund her education - but if she can make Stefan March see he's not God's gift to women, all the better. She never expects to find out there's more to him than meets the eye. As different as day and night, can these two see past who they think they are to find love?

Subpar Narrations

Compared to book one, the male narrations are weak. Their tones do not reflect strong, muscular, bad-ass men. They sound like weak, young college punks, running a game on young inexperienced college girls.

good book

I didn't care for the male narrator but the story was great. K.M Scott is one of my favorite writers!

Hard to listen to

Really didn't care for the male narrator. His voice was so-so for the male characters, but nerve grating for the female characters.

Narrator

The book would have been good if I was reading but the male narrator in this book sucked. He should be reading mystery’s or children’s books.

Uhmmm...

The book itself was good, but the male narrator was so incredibly annoying I almost didn't finish listening...

OK so I should have listened to the other reviews!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend to read the book, but not on audible. The male narrator absolutely ruined it.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I felt the ending was a bit too predictable, but I still like a happy ending.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The male narrator voice was distracting. Far too whinny and scratchy.

Did Surrender inspire you to do anything?

Yes, listen to the other reviews. I would probably still have bought the book put in a print version to avoid the poor narration.

Shay and Stefan

Stefan is a player, plain and simple. Shay doesn't want to get attached since she'll be leaving soon for an internship abroad. When they cross paths, Shay decides to play the player, and Stefan makes a bet he can get the unobtainable girl. Pretty quickly things spin out of control and both plans go wrong.

I couldn't really get into the story. I even tried bouncing back and forth between the ebook and the audiobook, but it just never fully grabbed my interest. I just didn't like Stefan's character, and the narrator didn't fit for what I imagined him to sound like. I was somewhat disappointed in Shay throughout most of the story, but CJ Bloom did a great job with her character.
