About this listen

A quest for vengeance...

Lord Adam Callahan, earl of Hartmoor, has spent the past five years destroying the Fairchild family as recompense for the ruination of his sister. Yet, it never seemed like enough...until the family's only daughter appeared on his doorstep searching for answers. In her, he found the perfect tool for his final revenge. His plan had been simple - coerce Lady Daphne Fairchild into an illicit affair and ruin her.

An unexpected obsession...

After 30 days and nights in his bed, Adam sends Daphne back to London a fallen woman, the final blow that will see the Fairchild family scorned by society. However, he is hard-pressed to forget the beauty of her submission or the brief moments of peace and balance she brought his tortured existence. Despite the bad blood between their families, he is determined to possess her, to stake his claim on her beyond the 30 nights she gave him. She will fight him at every turn...which will only make the chase, and her inevitable surrender, all the better.

A choice between love and retribution...

When the consequences of Adam's deeds begin to fall back on not only him, but Daphne as well, he is forced to bring her under his protection. He will end this feud between his family and hers once and for all, and he is determined to put her behind him when all is said and done. Yet, it becomes increasingly clear that setting her aside will not be as simple as he thought.

Her heart could be his for the taking, but only if he will abandon his vendetta against her family once and for all. Will Adam choose a lifetime of peace and love with Daphne...or will the need for revenge consume him and eventually destroy him?

Captivating

I found this to be a captivating story that gripped me from the first chapter. I liked that Daphne was a courageous woman, especially given her family background. As for Hart, what a man! Hart is a dominant force but he also has a caring and protective side for the people he loves. I loved the way the relationship developed between Daphne and Hart, it had me fluctuating between heartbreak and cheering them on. There were several engaging secondary characters to add interest to the story. The conclusion was a surprise for me. This author never fails to capture my interest. The narrator, Darcy Stark gave a very good performance, using different voices to bring the characters and scenes to life and had an easy voice to listen to.

Gotta love this villain!

This was a super follow up to book 1. It certainly didn't disappoint. Lord Adam Callahan is a very demanding, hard, possessive and controlling man. Daphne is a strong and willful female, which is just what Adam needs. Their "relationship" is a battle of wills that in the end works for both of them. Adam is a strong overpowering character and is masterfully performed by Darcy Stark. He sure brings out the strength and power of this character. That voice, wow! Darcy is able to bring Adam to life as well as all the others in this book. It was every bit as good as book 1, maybe even better! I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.

A great book

This book not only is hot but it is a wonderful good story. I enjoyed it and regret that I have finished the series. The character development was rich. Darcy Stark does a fabulous job near rating. It’s Irish brogue and female voices are believable. He has one of the most sexy voices I’ve ever heard.absolutely wonderful!

Love Love Love!!!!

Victoria Vale has done it again!!! This book The Dove is the sequel to the Villain. I would be hard pressed to pick which one is my favorite! I just love Adam and Daphne’s story..., if I could write the perfect story this would be it! I also think Darcy Stark is one of the best narrators. He really brings it to life. You will not be disappointed if you bought this!!! Love!!!

Delicious, dark erotica- read by the perfect narrator

Deserves more than 5 stars. Loved the storyline and the voice actor. After listening to The Villain (Part 1) I just couldn’t wait for Audible to release this book, so I had to read this one while I waited. This performance is as flawless as the first book, and brings much needed closure to issues left open in The Villain. If you indulged in The Villain, then you probably don’t need to be coaxed into acquiring The Dove. If you happen to have stumbled across this title without having enjoyed Part 1, you should definitely experience The Villain first. This one is definitely on my very short lost of audiobooks I listen to over and over.

I was completely engrossed!

I love how possessive Adam is over his Little Dove. It's bordering on crazy, but she likes it so it works. The storyline is so good and juicy, it makes you want to listen all day. Darcy does an amazing job giving Adam his voice. The accent and the gruffness makes him sound like he's intimidating, but he's also got an emotional side that is so endearing when shown.

Another great one by V!

The Dove

“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”

Again I am not usually into Historical/Regency novels but...WOW!
You really need to read the first book for this one to make much sense but believe me you won't disappointed by reading either book.
The book draws you in right away with the continuation of Adam & Daphne's volatile yet very...erotic relationship. This is not your typical love story, it starts out as revenge pure & simple and Adam figuring that it will be the ultimate revenge to send Daphne back home a fallen woman, but after their deal is up & he sends her home he realizes that he can't stop thinking about her, will he choose love over revenge? Of course he will!
I love that Daphne is a strong, independent woman, but even the most level headed female can & will fall for the bad boy.
I did a wtf moment when it came to Adam but...all turns out the way it should.

I would highly recommend!

This book was way better than I anticipated! The story was captivating and the narration was spot on! A bit naughty but I enjoyed it regardless.
