couldn't continue

I have no idea what thisstory is about beyond 15 minutes in because I could not stand listening to this narrator. The story sounded intriguing, but the narration was impossible to listen to.

Good Story

What made the experience of listening to The Enslaved Trilogy Complete Set the most enjoyable?

The book itself is very enjoyable although the ending came too fast.
Something is wrong with the audio but if you ignore it, you can get past it and enjoy the plot.

This series could have been a good one!

Would you listen to The Enslaved Trilogy Complete Set again? Why?

NO!

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Never got past the dull, monotone narrator....why did every sentence end in a drawn out final word....maybe she needs to practice her breathing technique when she is reading aloud.

How could the performance have been better?

Monotone narrators are sooooo boring.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No....I tried to listen to it several times with an open mind, but the narrator just was so sad.
Who picks the narrator? If it is audible, or the media group this is a audible book "killer".

Any additional comments?

If the author picked the narrator, well I hope she learned that this one was a mistake!

Had to pause the recording to go have fun with...

What did you love best about The Enslaved Trilogy Complete Set?

That all 3 stories were in one volume set instead of buying them separately, of course :-)

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really fell for Roman's dark nature, but also got a kick out of Mistress Lauren. I like that she was not a skinny minny and had meat on her bones! And that she was a Dom :-)

Have you listened to any of Christine Padovan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She is normally a fine narrator, but somehow in the first story, 'Enslaved', she really held on too often to the ending of words in sentences. And the audio production made it seem like there was an 'echo' at the end of a word, making it seem like she held it too long.

Ms. Padovan must have gotten better direction for 'Enamored' and 'Enraptured' because her narration was much smoother and not so broken up - and audio productions were better. I would have given 5 stars for the narration, if it weren't for some of the odd breaks in the first story.

Otherwise, good acting ability and voice choices for all the characters :-) And the sex scenes...ooo, la, la!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Spank Me and Make Me Yours ;-)

Any additional comments?

My boyfriend and I had to pause the recording often to go and...you know ;-) ... so definitely worth a credit or a buy! It was worth it just to listen to the shibari scene with Roman in Japan (in 'Enamored').

Definitely gets your knickers wet...

If you're looking to get your panties (or briefs, whoever you are :)) wet, then Shoshanna's writing is for you. I'd say the audio version of her Enslaved stories is between a 3 and 4 star rating. Her writing doesn't seem to translate well to audio, or the direction given the narrator doesn't work for most of us (especially in the first story - it gets way better in 2 and 3).

I enjoy the humor Shoshanna puts in her stories (a bdsm club named 'Whippersnapper' is a hoot) and there are some fun characters, but would have liked less repeated, duplicate phrases between the stories and more original writing in each.

But overall, an enjoyable experience - and everyone finds and gets what they desire.

Good book BUT worse narrator EVER!!!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Sure, but I would have rather read the book.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Not at all, she is better off narrating robots.

Do you think The Enslaved Trilogy Complete Set needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No.

Good...

The stories were good, but I did not like the narrators voice. Very monotoned! If you can get past that, the stories are good!

The narration ruins all 3 books!

The narration is so bad it completely ruins the books. All three are in the same oddly sing-song, badly inflected voice.
I love audio books! But for this set buy the paperback versions instead.
Not even three for one credit is worth the horrid narration. I have seen other reviews of other books that claimed the narrator was not up to par and after listening, I didn't agree. So I took a chance on this set. I wish I had not wasted my credit.

Thus I urge you to listen to a sample before you buy. I wish I had.

Almost stopped listening.

The narration was atrocious, the emphasis on the last part of words was almost unbearable. Overall good story line but the narration left much to be desired.
