About this listen

Unemployed, blacklisted, and pregnant, Sophie Scaife's life is totally upside down. Her relationship with publishing magnate Neil Elwood is on the rocks. Her best friend's career is igniting. And Sophie is afraid that she'll make one of the toughest decisions of her life alone.

When a devastating diagnosis forces Neil to return to London, Sophie throws caution to the wind to follow her heart across the Atlantic. Keeping a scorching affair as red-hot in sickness as it was in health is a challenge, even for two lovers as inventive as Sophie and Neil. But Sophie is more than willing to try anything her sir commands, and their fantasies of control become a welcome refuge from the daily stress of illness.

While Neil's wealth and privilege make adjusting to her new situation easier, Sophie finds herself rebuilding her life around an uncertain future. And while both of them face the changes between them head-on, they're all too aware that their happiness may be fleeting - and that Sophie could lose Neil forever.

The Girlfriend put me on the emotional rollercoaster from the very beginning. I went from being so happy, to turned on, to wanting to cry all within a few pages and it continued that way the entire time! I am eager to get right into book 3!

The narration was good, just like the first in the series. I wish the author had chosen a male narrator to handle Neal's voice but it is still good without.

Sexy and Emotional

C. J Bloom has done an amazing job narrating. I love the real life event's of the 2nd book... I love how Neil and Sophie's relationship has become more than just erotic sex... well written series. one of the best ones ive read so far....Must read for sure!!!!

The narration on this story was great - easy to listen too.
I found myself enjoying the actual character interaction and story building more than the sex scenes, but some great character development occurred.

Not too shabby!

I still struggle with the inept attempts at British accents. Story itself is quite good. Onto the next book

More research needed on accents

this one was better than the last. A serious depiction of a subject not romantic, cancer. There a practical, realistic ending. Definitely a recommended read.

wonderful follow up.

I love this series and my only complaint is I wish that an actual man narrated the male voices. Sometimes the narrator forgets who she’s reading and the voice changes are awkward but otherwise I enjoy it very much

Kind of addicted
