About this listen

Includes Wild Rebel, Wild War, and Wild Heart.

We were supposed to run away after high school. When she didn’t show up at our meeting place, I gathered my courage and went after her. It was a mistake. I left bloodied and bruised. My heart didn’t fare half as well.

I had no choice but to walk away.

Years passed. A decade. More. I traveled, settled halfway around the world, and made myself a name and enough money that I didn’t have to look back. But I never got over her. And when my memories got the best of me, I went looking. Put all my effort behind the search. Even the best of the best private eyes couldn’t find the woman I’d deeply loved.

Then, out of the blue, she calls.

And what she asks for, the favor that she wants? I never thought I'd be willing to take a life. But the truth is and always has been: I'd do anything for her.

So dark and twisty

This trilogy was so unexpected. I was drawn in and on edge. Could get a bit frustrating as the characters were so quick to distrust or would not just say what they were thinking. To be in their 30's- you would expect a little more maturity about just saying what they are thinking or feeling. But the story keeps you hanging on for the next twist.
It's really dark, and some of the subject matter could trigger, but loved it. Narrators are two of my favs and really make this a 5⭐️

I like the story a lot

I really liked the back story of their terrible childhood. The narrator pairing was perfect. They really do a good job painting a picture for you

The most confusing and addictive three books

I was tormented yet inquisitive to understanding the dark and unsettling story to the end. My teenage years were very much as Jolene but sexual abuse was not used against me. Possessive father that tormented his daughter and high school boyfriend was my part during that time in my life that kept me glued to each part of this trilogy. Be aware of extreme situations and annoying things that take place. Some of the readers will relate to the tormenting story. Be aware of your moods when reading each book in this trilogy.

Great boxed set!

I loved this boxed set. It was a perfect way to listen to all the books in this series as the cliffhangers weren't so bad. My heart broke for both characters. It was a hard listen at times. They definitely had to work for their relationship. This was great addition to the world Laurelin Paige has created.

Sebastian York and Elena Wolfe are excellent narrators. They brought this audiobook to life with emotional performances that had it rolling like a movie in my head. Both are favorite narrators of mine.

Narration spot on, storyline drags.

I have listened to more than 275 audio books in the last 2 years. One common denominator that has started to drive me crazy is weak women and in some cases men that continue to use their upbringing or lack thereof as a reason for lack of communication, trust and lies. People do overcome these obstacles on a daily in real life but, does all the drama really sell books and give people reading them feel better about themselves? For me, it leaves me frustrated, annoyed and wishing they would just tell the truth and communicate and not place the woe is me card in every book. This book series could have been told in 1 book and spoiler alert, leaves you with a predictable happy ending after years of being miserable apart …

Good story…

But was dragged out a bit with all of angst in Cade and Jolie’s heads, especially Jolie. She was so in her head keeping unnecessary secrets and allowing herself to be manipulated over and over by her father. SPOILER ALERT: not getting a second paternity test after leaving home was just too stupidly ridiculous. The fathers death was disappointing. It was wrapped up to quickly and neatly considering all he had done. He should have experienced considerable pain prior to death. Someone should have cut off his penis then butt f*** him with a stick before allowing him to die. Overall a good three book set series. I highly recommend the entire series and read in order even if they are advertised as standalone.
