About this listen

My name is Theoden. This is the story of my life. Apparently, there has been a huge demand for me to tell it. Normally, I do what I want unless the command comes from my sire, Ara. But, revealing the tale about how I became the powerful vampire prince of the city is something I think I will enjoy telling.

You'll see my first mission for the church, my first kill, the life-changing moment when I lost my virginity, and how I chose my first son - all of the things that mean something to me and that made me the vampire I am. So, sit back, and give me all of your attention, as I want your eyes on me. Now, let's begin.

Prepare to be entertained to new heights as Theoden delivers you a unique tale of his life from childhood to the vampire Master you know him to be.

Warning: This is a prequel to the highly erotic, extremely dark, and twisted New Haven series and the spin-off Odin Chronicles. I can't stress enough how strong the sexual, violent, and adult content is in this book. The temperature in the room will rise to unbearable degrees. Pearls will be clutched, and you may utter the words "Oh, my god" several times while listening to it. You have been warned. For mature listeners only.

Fantastic

It's certainly a fantastic prequel to the series. Already loved Theoden from the series and loved knowing more about him and about how he came to be who he is. It's certainly one of my favorite series.

As to the narration, it felt great. It's an excellent work, it sounds really natural and expresive.

A Unique foundling raised by the Church to hunt

Theoden, foundling, left to be raised by the tender mercies of the church during the dark ages of humanity, is trained along-side other orphans to fight, hunt and destroy dark creatures of the night that prey on his fellow humans. But the other Boy's don't like him and won't play with him, and his caregivers of the church will only tell him that he is special and that he must train hard to become the weapon of the church and leader of church's team of monster fighters.

This is a great story of vampire, werewolves and dragons with fantastic character narrations! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and as in in most ADULT VAMPIRE or WEREWOLF themed stories it involves bloody, sometimes gory or horrifying situations, which are the nature of the beast. ALSO the modern Vampire/Werewolf is not always the "NEW MOON" or old "DRACULA" version stalking the swooning female character. This book has M/M, NOT M/F, sexual situations and although it has one interlude of a mixed species lovestory for one of the minor characters this particular book is not a romance novel but just a really good story of a boy who becomes hunter then a warrior, and the Dynasty and the family he becomes part of.

Wow, Nicholas Bella really knows how to pack a punch and this book is a great example! He is one of those authors who is underrated but once you read his work, you have to go and read everything he has written! This book is excellent, full of intrigue and great worldbuilding. The main characters are fantastic and you will want more! Loved the storyline and this will certainly be one Inwill listen to again in the future. Christian Gilliland did a great job narrating.

Very Intense and Riveting

Theoden is the prequel to the New Haven series, and a wonderful introduction to the series and Nicholas Bella’s writing. This book is not for the faint of heart – take the trigger and content warnings seriously. The world building is fascinating, but the world of New Haven series is dark and twisted ruled by vampiric morality. This means that there is a lot of violence, blood, and human suffering - no punches were pulled or soften.

This book follows the life of Theoden, from his childhood, both as a human and as a vampire, to his growth into a dangerous and powerful vampire lord. I found it riveting to follow Theoden’s journey from his point of view. The transformation was intense and dark with both cruel and painful moments as well as some surprising tenderness and love. I found the storytelling thrilling, and the writing style flowed very well. This was an intense and dark read, but so well written and captivating.

The audiobook, narrated by Christian J. Gilliland, was fantastic. Christian did an amazing job bringing this book to life. His performance was spectacular, and he was able to bring the characters alive with just the right amount of emotions and energy. I was hanging onto every word. Overall, this was a well done audiobook with quality production and narration.

Outstanding!!

Christian J. Gilliland did an Amazing job with the Narration of this book.
If you Liked the other dark and brutal to listen to stories by Nicolas Bella, you will also be a fan of this story.
the raw and raunchy sex scenes that are brutal to listen to, make this a great addition to the series.
Hopefully, there will be more break off stories to come.
I'm definitely a fan of Nicolas Bella and his writing.
So Definitely worth the credit and your time to listen.
Just remember, these stories are Dark and Brutal.

Theoden

An awesome performance by Christian and excellent book by Nicholas Bella.

I read Chained in Darkness first and I now know where Theoden learned his craft from.

I need to find the time to read everything again as I own almost the whole series of books. And this is definitely going on my re-read/re-listen list.

You won’t regret getting this one as Christian’s accents are delicious.

Highly recommend.

Theoden is the best!

When you're smiling and squirming at the opening credit, you know you're in a hell of a ride.

That voice, hmm, I can't get over it, it is so hot! And narrating my ultimate favorite vampire's book? Holyhell, I'm surprised I'm not a puddle on the floor. It was so hot!

I love this book so much, Theoden's story is really good. I love his journey, he had an interesting life and he went through so much. So good to see him in those kind of situation when he was just a young thing. Ara and Tylendel, oh god, those two with Theoden! Love them. Tylendel and Theoden's relationship is still one of my favorite, and I love how Ara handled everything.

Theoden with Nolan was hot too. Some hate fckng but enjoying the hell out of it. When Nolan rimmed Theoden, oh god.

Theoden went through everything just the same as when he put his boys through those things. Theoden is the strongest and the most badass mtherfcker out there, and I fight everyone who says otherwise.

Loved listening to the audiobook and you sure as hell I will re-listen to it many times in the future. That voice with this book - holy hell. Pearls clutching indeed. And don't get me started on the Marco/Theoden fckng. WOW.

Creative erotica that delivers something different

This was filthy but not nearly as gross as some of the other books in this series. Also it took its time to build up to the filth at the start and feels like it attempted this time to string a plot together.

Overall my impressions of this series is still the same and this book was no different. It really feels just like a loose plot used as an excuse to transition from one Erotic scene to the next. Doesn't feel like it's trying to have any more depth then being baiting material. Which is fine and this ends up serving exactly the intended filthy purpose for.

I really love the creativity that goes into the erotica. That loose world building and plot really just creates a fun set piece to begin a Erotic scene in. Even though it really is just a bunch of Erotic scenes it still feels like some creative thought went into it all to deliver something different to bait to.

I enjoyed it and will continue to buy from this author because they are becoming really reliable with knowing how to create creative filth.
