About this listen

Luke Sumner has spent his whole life being coddled after nearly dying as an infant. At 21, he is more than ready to break free from his restricted world. He hasn't told anyone he's gay, and he's only just admitted his kinkier needs to himself, but he hopes to work up the courage to say something to the older man who has captured his attention.

Since moving back to Ames Bridge, Jack Lawrence has been consumed with running a successful bed-and-breakfast. He has't considered making time for relationships until he starts flirting with Luke each week at the farmers' market. By the end of the summer, Jack is wondering where the spark between them could go.

When Luke finally ventures into a club where he can fulfill his desires, he unexpectedly runs into Jack, and they discover they're a perfect match in the bedroom. With each hot encounter, more tender feelings surface, but between the age gap, not being out in Ames Bridge, and Luke's need to come into his own, do they dare be more to each other?

This series is so good. And this book doesn’t disappoint either.
Very enjoyably narrated. Highly recommendable.

So good

I loved the concept of them already flirting and then finding eachother in a kinky club. The chemistry between Luke and Jack really flowed through the writing as well as through Greg Boudreaux’s narration. My biggest quip is Luke’s family. They’re honestly so suffocating, especially his mom, and her turn around after years and years of making her child miserable and not letting him live felt really abrupt and though I know as a reader/listener we’re supposed to buy it, I didn’t. I get angst but it was a bit overkill with the whole town and then like a light switch mid conversation Luke’s mom is suddenly not insane anymore. After this story it’s clear this lady would be the MIL from hell and in the real world if Luke wanted happiness on his own and also with Jack he’d have to go NC or LC at the very least. Since it’s fictional though I guess we can lie to ourselves that Luke’s mother stops being an overbearing shrew. That being said overall I really did enjoy the story, even Jack’s stubbornness in one part where I wanted to shake him but on another level I understood why, and in the end it solidified things for both of them; though I wish we had gotten another chapter or an epilogue at the very least. It was a solid story and started great but didn’t quite wow me like I usually am with Silvia Violet books.

I am a sucker for bdsm, especially with a big age gap. The narrator did a good job. I would have liked the book to be bit longer with more character and world building. It’s overall very realistic and enjoyable.

Loved it

It was a decent story but it didn't feel complete. The characters and the story weren't fleshed out enough. But I love listening to Greg anytime, and his narration made it worth it.
