About this listen

I hired Ben under false pretenses. He may think I don’t know who he truly is, but I do. Even so, I'm tempted to trust him. His family may be full of con artists, but Ben is too innocent for his own good. Trustworthy or not, I'm going to keep him in my sights. I know better than to turn my back on a potential enemy, but watching Ben is no hardship.

Before he’s worked for me a week, I know that sooner or later, I'm going to make him mine—in every possible way. It doesn’t matter who I have to eliminate to keep him safe. No one but me is ever going to touch him.

Silvia Violet never disappointes

Wonderful story and start of a new series. as always Silvia Violet writes a very entertaining story that keeps you interested and entertained. Michael Dean as we all know, is the icing on the cake. He really brought this one to life. Giving each character a personality that I'm sure we'll see in future books. looking forward to the rest of this series fot sure.

Excellent Story!

I absolutely loved this story. Silvia Violet has become one of my favorite authors and Michael Dean’s narration as usual was perfection. I really enjoyed the draw Miles and Ben had to eachother right away, and how Miles knew instinctually he could trust Ben despite his family. This book was filled with heat but also heart, and I really liked all the secondary characters as well who rounded out the story. Another great story from Silvia Violet’s universe!

DNF

Not sure what the other reviewers are talking about. Did we listen to the same book? The author doesn’t seem interested in giving her main characters any kind of personalities or creating any chemistry between them, and everything about the setting and the way the story is told feels extremely generic and forgettable. It was a fun premise, it’s just a shame that the author doesn’t really do anything with it. The narrator isn’t bad but he’s also not good, there’s not a lot of feeling or variation between the voices of different characters. At times he sounds slightly robotic. I can only imagine he was bored too. All in all, a very disappointing book.
