About this listen

She was the epitome of forbidden fruit. And I wanted a taste.

Liam:

Being the oldest Ravage brother means I've always been the fixer, handling everyone else's mess. But the one problem I can't solve? Keeping my hands off Zoe, my best friend's daughter. Hidden away in my remote cabin, writing is my escape until duty thrusts her into my life. Over the years, Zoe evolves into a tempting taboo—the one person I crave but can never claim, despite what she tells me about her inclinations. I vowed protection at any cost—even if it's from myself.

Zoe:

Orphaned and thrust into adulthood, I bury myself in school work and keep my eyes trained on the prize. Now, with law school and an uncertain future looming, I'm used to doing everything myself and pushing back against Liam's stoic, overprotective resolve. Until I learn that the vanilla, cinnamon roll of a man I've known my whole life isn't so vanilla after all. Now, instead of infuriating me, his strict, commanding presence sends shivers down my spine. I soon realize his resistance was never about denying desire for him—it was about fulfilling a different kind of hunger.

Ward Willing is a full-length, age gap, guardian/ward billionaire romance with BDSM themes. It is book three in the Ravaged Castle series. All books can be listened to as standalones. Warning: This book contains an overprotective/possessive hero, explicit sexual situations, and strong language. There is a HEA.

Yes Daddy Liam

This audiobook was amazing! Absolutely loved the characters, the performance was spectacular and I was sat at some points.

There was tension and yes it was age gap, dads best friend but the “we shouldn’t be doing this” wasn’t overdone. I didn’t feel like either character harped on that. I absolutely love Liam and he is currently my leading Ravage brother!

One of my favorite reads brought to life!

Absolutely loved finally getting to hear Liam in my ear with all of my favorite parts of the story. While I loved each of the narrators on their own, unfortunately Their voices for each other really didn’t work for me. When they spoke as each other, it really took me out of the story.

AUDIO ARC ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Jaw dropping.

Sexy with just the right amount of angst.

Did I mention the jaw dropping narration?!?

Now, I *love* the book, brilliantly written and perfectly narrated, this really could be a winner for a top of the year. I wonder how Author Amanda Richardson got the narrators as perfectly close to what I “heard” the characters as I read the book!

This is both a must read and a must listen, simply brilliant

Ward Willing

The narrators of Ward Willing very much embodied Liam and Zoe perfectly. They really brings the book to life.

The prologue

This book is so good! The audio of the prologue is HOT. I already read the book so I knew I would love it but the narrator’s really brought the story to life. Great age gap romance with a little king and a lot of spice.

Great combo of plot and spice

Sometimes this trope (Ward/guardian) is all spice and no plot. This story was much better than that. I found the characters had relatable demons, and the spice was well done. The narration was top-notch. I haven't heard a lot of Gideon Frost, but he was fab and really enhanced the audiobook. I don't know if I ever heard Veronica Pace before but she was fab.

There’s no way Elias or Carolina would have given their approval!!!

I liked the other books in this series and was interested how the author would approach this trope. Reading it, I have a slight ick over the relationship and want to think he groomed her even though that seems like that’s not the case.. HOWEVER I do really like that the author didn’t make the MMC a natural born Dom and he admitted he has things to learn, did research etc. very refreshing from every other title with a dom/sub relationship. Decent story. Looking for the next title in the series more though

A delightful listen. The narrators really did their thing & brought something special to these characters.

I was provided an ALC of this title for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Liam and Zoe.
Protector and ward.
Dominant and submissive.

When Liam’s best friend and his wife died in a tragic accident, the bachelor’s whole life changed when he was granted custody of their little girl. But Zoe’s not a little girl anymore, something much more than a platonic relationship has bloomed between them over the years, and their adult dynamic takes an abrupt and drastic turn.

This was a delightful listen. The narrators really did their thing & brought something special to these characters.

I do slightly wish I’d read the other standalone titles in the series first if only to better understand the nods to their stories, but it’s not a necessity and I still very much enjoyed the story on its own.

🎧 Audio Review 🎧
Gideon Frost and Veronica Pace did an excellent job bringing Amanda Richardson's story to life. I loved their portrayals of Liam and Zoe - Gideon was a perfect fit for the gruff, older man. His voice is sinful, even in normal conversation, but the way he talks dirty... Yes, please!

📖 Story Review 📖
I adored Liam and Zoe’s story! This book is angsty with mutual pining: a forbidden relationship, >20-year age gap, father’s best friend, and guardian/ward dynamics. While their love is sweet, they don’t have the easiest journey to their HEA (expect some stumbles along the way).

My favorite part was Liam's pleasure Dom awakening. Every scene made me green with envy – Zoe is one lucky woman. This book makes me wish I weren’t happily married with two kids so I could go find my own version of Liam.

Overall, this is not a dark book. It deals with mental health issues and loss of life. Liam and Zoe share in joint healing, escaping loneliness, and learning to grab life by the horns.

Mixed burn and spicy, there is kink-scene exploration, first times, and lots and lots of dirty talk. It starts out fast (can we say Prologue smut?), but then it slows down to a simmer – Amanda sure loves to edge her readers!

Ward Willing is part of an interconnected series following a set of brothers. It can be read as a complete standalone, even with the character crossovers. Liam and Zoe get their HEA.

Mixed review

I liked the story, but somewhere during the second half it felt like the author rushed to get it done. The writing just got sloppy. "Her eyes sparkled with mischievousness". That's a lot of letters just to say 'mischief'. Additional incidents of sloppiness took me out of the story repeatedly. Bad writing, poor editing. Disappointing.

The male narrators this author chooses for her books are always bad, and this one's no exception. He's fine until the spicy parts, and then he just sounds like a creep. Speaking through clenched teeth so all the resonance goes through his nose, hard (emphasized) final consonants. Not sexy at all. indeed, it's a turn off. The female narrator is fine.
