Continue the Immortal Curse journey with Balthazar and Leela in Wicked Bonds.
Welcome to the Immortal Curse world, where angels and vampires exist in secret - for now.
A passionate affair of sizzling heat.
Forgotten and buried.
Because what happens in Brazil stays in Brazil.
That was the plan, anyway. Until Balthazar started to remember everything. Now he's forcing Leela to pay the ultimate price - by making her beg. Every hot touch ignites her soul. Every smoldering glance makes her thighs clench. And worse, there's no escaping him.
They're on the run from a horde of warrior angels, protecting an innocent from a fate worse than death.
The High Council of Seraph has issued an edict.
Comply or die.
Only the faithful will survive.

I thought this was an emotional read - But listening to it - hearing the nuances, the emotions
Changed the whole story for me
You'll want to strap in tight for this one!
" Except betrayal... betrayal destroyed everything. Even blood."
I knew B's story would be sensuous-
Hello, it's B -
what I wasn't prepared for was the level of angst that occurred
I don't want to risk spoilers just know when the truth was finally exposed I felt my heart crack just a bit
To have so much stolen from them
Leela was everything I expected.
Stas delivers a blow that may change everything
Luc is still having trouble accepting/processing the loss of Aiden and his own feelings towards a newly converted
A certain villainous "O" still has me on the fence. He claims their end game is the same but it's how he goes about getting there that is bothering me. Though I did see a chance for reformation
And the seraphim council??? Just wait for it
Oh! Oh! before I forget
Sweet innocent Eliza has a secret 🤫
So many twists and OMG moments - like I expected anything less
This does set the tone for Luc's story
" Except betrayal... betrayal destroyed everything

What a hot and tasty morsel of a story! I would not expect anything less from Lexi when it came to Balthazar and Leela’s escapade. The passion that they share is addicting and completely intoxicating. They are a true match made in heaven.
The narrators do a fantastic job bringing Leela and B to life, their voices intoxicating.
The plot has thickened throughout this story and twist at the end of the book leaves me anxious for the next installment. It can’t come soon enough!!
Hats off to Lexi, she never disappoints!

I was excited to see this release, however, I struggled to get through, this one. Usually, I would devour a book, from this series, in a single day but, my mind kept drifting and I’d have to back up and relisten. It took three days for me to finish this book. I expected B’s book to consume my attention, but it didn’t.
One issue was the confusing inner monologue, by the Heroine. I couldn’t really follow her thoughts and it bored me.
There was a mystery about the couple’s history, that needed to be unraveled but it dragged out too long.
This book also had appearances of characters that were focused on, in previous books but, that also failed to hold my attention. I kept thinking, “ get on with it!”.
The narration was as flawless as ever, so it was not the issue. I guess it was possible that I was just not in the right frame of mind.
No matter what, I do not wish I would have skipped, the book, nor am I less anxious for the next release. Luke, the King, finally gets his book, next, and I will anxiously awaiting it’s release!
🌻This one dragged, a bit!🌻

But of course, the heart of this book is Balthazar and Leela. B, the sexy, and sensual Hydraian elder, and Leela, the Seraphim of fertility and pretty much anything to do with sexuality. Leela’s gifts make her a bit of an anomaly in the Seraphim world, more connected to humans and emotions because of her gifts. But it’s those same gifts that make her the perfect match for B. And after B discovered that she tampered with his memories of an encounter they had in Brazil several months prior, he’s determined to get those memories restored and maybe more with the tantalizing seraphim. The physical connection between them is unmistakable. If you’ve read Elder Bonds, you know it beyond sizzles, and the story of Brazil is scorching (if you haven’t read it, you should, it’s fantastic!). But this book gets so much deeper, and there is so much more to their story than I would have ever even imagined, and I loved every second of it. I won’t be going into details, because I absolutely don’t want to spoil it, but their story is heartbreaking and absolutely perfect. Their journey to each other goes beyond anything you might think going into this. An interesting twist with this book, is that since B can now hear Leela’s thoughts (he was not able to prior to this book), it adds a whole new layer to his perspective and their interactions, and it’s fantastic.
I love everything about this series. The love, the action, the spice, the intrigue, the mystery, it’s all excellent. And the characters are ones that you love coming back to again and again.
Audiobook Review - An entire 13 hour book filled with Kale Williams doing B’s accent - yes, please, sign me up, over and over again. This audiobook narration is absolute perfection. Sarah Puckett, as always, is excellent as well, and captures Leela’s voice with ease and precision. Since we also get other POVs in this book as well, we get the multitude of wonderful that is this narration team. An already excellent book is absolutely unmissable in audiobook form.
Earbud melting, and action packed on every level
