(New info added at the bottom, in response to feedback and reviews.) Timothy Ellis lives on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia; where he battles with his cat for possession of his desk chair. Daleks do guard duty, and he keeps his sonic screwdriver next to his lightsaber and wand. He spent his life reading and watching science fiction and fantasy, and has been playing Space Genre computer games since he used to be smuggled in to play the original text Star Trek game on a university mainframe, long before the PC or Apple appeared. Since 2004, he's written game guides for the Egosoft X Universe series, culminating in two versions of the X3 Handbook, and an X4 Shipyard building guide. He has also designed major mods for the various games, and dozens of mini mods. He has been a farm worker, Antique Dealer, Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, Operations Manager of a small retail chain, and Retail Store Owner. He is now a full time author, who still does Spiritual Healer and helper work. After leaving behind the corporate and business worlds, he was opened to his Spiritual gifts. Now a Feng Shui Master, Feng Shui led him to Buddhism, Karma, the Tao, and back to western spiritualism. Since 2006 he has been writing spiritual articles and helping people via spiritual forums and Facebook Groups. His spiritual books include "Personal Healing Using Basic Meditation", "Life Harmony, Feng Shui in Plain English", '101 Tips for the John of God Brazil Experience', and "The Wisdom of the Ages is available for the price of asking a question" series of 8 books. His own spiritual healing led him to writing novels. His first novel, 'Hero at Large', spawning the long running 'The Hunter Imperium' universe, brings together his love of the space genre, magic, spirituality, and cats. Now 12 series long, the universe covers 3 galaxies, 4100 years, and as at Undone, 81 Novels, 8 shorts, and 2 companion books. There are 7 main entrance points across the 12 series: Hero at Large, Admiral of Gaia, Yesterday's Spacemage, Crossover, Midshipman Spacemage, Old Magic, and Killer Bunny. Alternate entrance points if you don't need backstory first, are Adrift, Mage King, Dragon Rider, and Unfair. There is also 2 parody shorts with a crossover with Villain Support. The fastest way to find out about a new release is my Facebook group/page, which get advance warning about a week before release, and again when the book is uploaded to Kindle; and my email list which goes out close to midnight of release day in the US. Bookbub will let you know about 3-4 days after they get the pre-order date right. Amazon may or may not tell you at all. I normally will release in advance of the specified pre-order release date whenever possible (which due to Amazon policy I set at 2-3 months, but release around 30 days from the last release date normally. So if you are a Kindle Unlimited reader, you will want another method to be notified of the actual release date, so you can download and read on day 1. Some things which might help you choose to read my books (or not): - You and I are on the same journey of discovery. Me as I write it, and you as you read it. - I mainly write 'life in space'. Living the life of the character is more important than what happens. Or if you like, bathroom breaks and throwing up are part of life. - I don't write using 3 acts. I'm a 'pantser', not a plotter. - There is no pacing. What happens, happens, as it happens. Or put another way, life happens. Perfect pacing for me, isn't real life. Sh*t all happens at the same time, and then there's a lot of boredom. Deal with it. - I use the 'Oxford Comma', and when I read a sentence, where I pause gets a comma. The comma is a pause, so if you are pausing, you're reading it as I wrote it. Any discomfort is you're own problem. Apparently I put too many in, and not enough, and in the wrong place, and all at the same time. Deal with it. - I dislike the assumption that as a main character levels up in skills, the bad guys do as well, or the situations must get worse. - I intensely dislike a main character who is strong, but has to do stupid, or pull a rabbit out of an orifice, because the bad guy is always stronger. - I really hate the assumption that a main character should always be threatened with death or worse, no matter how strong they are. If you need your main characters to be under threat all the time, don't read my books. - If you're reading the Spacemage books with the expectation of overpowered meets bigger overpowered, you're missing the whole point of what I'm writing. The important conflict is always internal, not external. - I don't actually write Epic Saga, like so many SF&F authors do. In spite of the first series going 14 books, and setting up a universe. I'm more interested in how characters deal with things, than momentous events. 11 series later, the universe is epic all on it's own. - I'm Australian, and I use Australian spelling, and ways of talking. Writing Australian is not bad grammar, it's just different. Word is trying to turn me into an American, but I'm fighting back. You either like the way I write, or you don't. Either way, it's your problem. - I don't use ARC's and no longer have a Beta reader. I don't send out free copies for reviews. I don't discount on day 1. Deal with it. - I actively fix any goof/typo/issue in my books, as they get identified. This is not a matter of bad editing, but being aware you can never find everything, and us Indies can fix it when we find it, and so we do. My pet peeve is all the Trad books I re-read where none of the many goofs have ever been fixed. - You can let me know any issue through my Facebook group/page, or via my new release mailing list email I send out from. All my books have had updates. Check for update buttons in your Amazon account settings, or request Amazon to update your copy, since they don't auto-update every time I do one. This includes KU, where updates are also not automatic. You must request an updated version by removing the book, and downloading again.
