Story
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had one dream. Go to college with my best friends, earn a starting position on a division one team, and hear my name announced to the world come draft day. The path was clear, and things were falling in place perfectly. Until she showed up. I never meant to fall for my friend’s little sister and by the time I realized I had, it was too late. I am a man in love with a girl … who is in love with someone else. But I can’t compete with a ghost, and her heart was buried along side the boy she gave it to. The father of her unborn son.

We waited for Mason
Reviewed: 10-19-24
I really enjoyed most of this story. As I expected, I adored Mason. Payton started to wear on my nerves a whole lot by about 75%of the book. Her absolute desperation to hang on to the previous man in her life made me want to scream.
The narrators were spot on though.

A little white lie never hurt anyone . . . or so I thought. One fake date and we’d go our separate ways, at least that’s how hockey’s hottest golden boy—Nixon Sinclair—convinced me this would work. But it turns out, Nix had other plans. Now I’m sneaking around with my brother’s teammate, refusing to admit he’s everything I want but never knew I needed.

At just over 6hrs, this is a shortie for me. It is a cute storyline with the FMC being oblivious to the MMC's longtime crush on her. I love the MMC's energy. Not so much golden retriever, but he's willing to do just about anything for her.
Loved the narrators for this audiobook, especially the male narrator. He fit the MMC perfectly.

Story
Growing up, I spent every night tucked under my mother’s arm, dreamily listening to tales from her favorite book series—Legend Has It by Darby Donovan, a collection of spooky folklore about a town called Glenshire and the lonely, gray-eyed fairy prince who haunted the woods there. I knew they were just stories, but when my mother died and left me in the care of my cold, abusive father, that fictional fairy prince suddenly became very, very real to me. It was as if he was always there, hiding in the shadows, offering me his silent comfort.

This audiobook was an automatic buy for me. I absolutely fell in love with the first one, so naturally I had to go right back to this world ASAP.
There is a fair bit of jumping about in the beginning so it can get confusing but hold tight because it's worth it.
The tension between Clover and Damien is astronomical. Talk about enemies to lovers. HA! Clover hates him so much she can taste it. I love Clover's fire. She is every bit how I imagined her to be and just the right match for Damien's darkness.
Overall, I really liked it. It was a good follow-up to the first book. I wonder if there will be any others in this world, but for other characters.
Take heed of the TW/CW on this one. It got a bit intense in parts.

I really did like the story. The characters were well rounded and the plot was nicely fleshed out.
However, I'm not a fan of the AI voice at all. The loss of tone inflection was a big no for me.

Finn has the patience of a saint
Reviewed: 03-03-24
A bit drawn out to the point of some repetition. Overall it was a good book.
Honestly, being a plus sized woman myself, I thought that I would identify more with Avery but she was so determined to damage every relationship or potential relationship (friend or more) because of her own lack of self-esteem that I found her to be infuriating at some points in the story. I really expected Finn to throw his hands up and just walk away from her quite a number of times. That man had the patience of a saint, I swear.
The devastating betrayal that Avery ends up suffering was a blindside for sure. It made my heart crack just a bit for her.
The audiobook was stellar. I LOVED the male narrator's voice. Spot on for bringing Finn to life with a deep, rich voice that certainly got spicy and hot hot hot!!

Can't wait for book 2!!
Reviewed: 03-01-24
This book had me twisted up!! Most of the time I felt like I needed to go back and re-read/re-listen just to make sure that I had things straight.
King is a man who knows what he wants when it comes to Sara Jane. Unfortunately, his life isn't his own. We don't find that out all at once though. It's fed to us in snippets throughout the book, just like Sara Jane finds out. It's heartbreaking and infuriating. I found myself just raging at the plot line, feeling like I was on a never ending rollercoaster.
King's dear old father, note the word there because it's important, is a heinous excuse for a human being. His actions are deplorable and nearly undigestible.
The emotional toll that the third act of this book took on me was intense. I'll be the first to admit that I'm a crier. I will sob like a baby at the littlest of things. However, this one had me wailing and struggling to catch my breath. AND! ANDDDDD!! It's a cliffhanger! AGH!
I can hardly wait for book 2!
The audiobook was excellent. The narrators were on point with emotion and tone inflection. I highly recommend listening if audio is your thing.

I found it (him) at the bookstore. Love. He was six-foot-four, lanky, blue-eyed. Jacob Decker was goofy, handsome, and cheesy. There’s no better way to describe him. But what can I expect of an 18-year-old boy who’s lived under a rock all his life? I’ll let you into a little secret. I had no idea what to expect. We were each other’s first everything. But the fantasy lasted only a semester. Soon I had to move away. A few years later, he was a rock star, and I was grasping for a lifeline.

Good start to duet
Reviewed: 02-26-24
Narration was on point as Joe and Stephanie brought the characters to life. It was a smooth performance without hiccup.
This was a super fast paced shortie, full of angst and missed opportunity. Jacob definitely had some insta-love feels for Pria, which I found a tad bit strange considering that he had never had a true relationship.
I found that I had to keep my attention focused because there are quite a few instances of fast forward time hops. I love rockstar romance. It's my jam. I wanted MORE of that trope here. I got kind of a taste but just not enough for me to actually label it so.
All in all, it was a good book one to a duet. It does end on a cliffhanger, so make sure you have book 2 at the ready.

I’m head over heels in love with my best friend. Although, I can’t pinpoint exactly when Reeve Lancaster became my entire world. Was it when we were little kids, practically brought up together, after Reeve’s mom died during childbirth and his dad subsequently fell apart? Or when I doodled his name in my school journal at age 10? Maybe it was when we became boyfriend and girlfriend at 14 or when we shed our virginity at 16, pledging our forever?

Honestly, after the first 30 minutes I was obsessed. I listened to this series every minute I could. There was no point that I could figure out where was a good spot to press pause. I was so immersed in the world of Viv, Dillon, and Reeve.
Vivien could possibly be one of the strongest FMC's I've read that's NOT in a dark romance. Honestly, that girl was put through absolute emotional torture. Yes, she could have saved herself many, MAAAANNNNYYYY times. However, the heart wants what it wants. Sometimes it also makes us turn a blind eye to what is going on around us.
I cried so many tears listening to this series, but I also laughed. The "side characters" were so integral to the story that I feel I am doing them a disservice by calling them side characters. Viv's besties, Ash and Audrey. Reeve's BFF, Alex. The band. The O’Donoghues. I mean they were all so vital to the storyline that taking even one of them out would equal disaster.
The voice performances were on point, honestly. I loved Viv's and Dillon's voices. Reeve's voice was not my favorite but it wasn't awful. It kind of lent to the way I felt about him. LOL It's such a HUGE production that it made being immersed in the story so easy.

Wild end to a series
Reviewed: 11-26-23
Seriously, this book was a wild end to this series. It's so much longer than the other books because there is SO MUCH MORE story. More twists, plotline flips, etc.
Honestly, there were times that I was a little overwhelmed at how some of the story overlapped and doubled back. You really have to pay attention to make sure you don't miss any little detail or you will be left wonder what the hell you missed.
By the end of the book, I felt like I had been on a REALLY long rollercoaster ride. Kind of ready to get off of it, but still enjoyed the ride. I still would highly recommend this book and this series. It was an intriguing storyline and most of the characters were very likeable.
The voice actors did an amazing job on this one. I was immediately drawn in and immersed with the quality of their voices for the characters.
