Story
Thirty-nine was a fantastic year. I was married to the man I loved. I had a body that worked without creaking. My grandma, who raised me, was still healthy, and life was pretty damned good. But as they say, all good things come to an end. One year later, I’m a widow. My joints are starting to ache. Gram is in the nursing home, and dead people think my home is some kind of supernatural bed-and-breakfast. Gluing body parts onto semi-transparent people has become a side job - deceased people I’m not even sure are actually there.

Smart. Sassy. Steel Magnolias meets the paranormal world. This series is so good. The performance is well done but the story itself is what hits this out of the stratosphere.

Listened to the whole story in less than 24 hours. The narrative made the story real in the moment. Touching on existing characters helped to bring everything a little closer. I did not think she could surpass the first book but I was wrong. Well done. Cannot work for another.

Story
You know, dating in your 40s should be easier. Should be. But it really isn’t. My first date in I don’t-know-how-long is broken up by my ex-husband. I mean, he’s dead, but still. Then a cryptic note from a voodoo queen. A siren who can’t keep it in his pants. And a hot fae who seems to be everything I’ve ever wanted. Except that he’s not a certain blacksmith. I can deal, right?

No words to say how good this is

This series has been amazing. The twists and turns while sometimes seem simple, are not. I was wondering WTF at the end of this installment. The heroine is not perfect but is so human I see her when I look in the mirror. I am so looking forward to Book 8. We need to see how things turn out after the Crash and burn of this ending. Bravo Shannon Mayer.

Story
Renowned author Delphine Larue needs a haven. A crazed fan has gone over the deep end, and she’s not safe. Her security team has suggested a house by a lake. Secluded. Private. Far away. In a beautiful area of the Northwest close to the sleepy town of Misted Pines. It’s perfect. So perfect, Delphine has just moved in, and she’s thinking she’ll stay there forever. Until she sees the girl in the mist.

My new Favorite.

A book where the 50+ couple are smart, successful and have realized their weaknesses are not worth their time. Brilliantly written, this is my favorite Kristen Ashley book. The characters complimented each other and there was an acceptance of those around them. There was no "I have this issue I need to work through" amongst the main couple. They accepted who each other were and that was enough. The drama happened around and to them and not because of them. Loved it.
