Charming, Cute, and Worth the Time
Reviewed: 12-06-23
A solid 4 stars and worth a listen. This is a good setup for more sequels and, while not a good as the first, it is better than most recent new releases. My dislike was mostly related to the then and now. I much rather read about current Molly and than kid Molly, but still a good story.
If you liked the first book, then you will enjoy this book too.

Story
Rare-book dealer Ashlyn Greer’s affinity for books extends beyond the intoxicating scent of old paper, ink, and leather. She can feel the echoes of the books’ previous owners—an emotional fingerprint only she can read. When Ashlyn discovers a pair of beautifully bound volumes that appear to have never been published, her gift quickly becomes an obsession. Not only is each inscribed with a startling incrimination, but the authors, Hemi and Belle, tell conflicting sides of a tragic romance.

Story
Luc O'Donnell is tangentially - and reluctantly - famous. His rock-star parents split when he was young, and the father he's never met spent the next 20 years cruising in and out of rehab. Now that his dad's making a comeback, Luc's back in the public eye, and one compromising photo is enough to ruin everything. To clean up his image, Luc has to find a nice normal relationship...and Oliver Blackwood is as nice and normal as they come. He's a barrister, an ethical vegetarian, and someone who has never inspired a moment of scandal in his life. He’s perfect boyfriend material.

One of the best listens in years, and I listen to 3-4 books /month.
THE GOOD - this it is the first book to make me laugh out loud since “ Nothing to See Here”,
THE BAD - I am a little twisted - and Bad Cynthia is my favorite female character.
THE UGLY - There is an audio issue for the first few chapters. The recording equipment issue goes away within the first hour. FYI, three times I restarted Chapter 1; but, I AM SO GLAD I DID.

Book Club Excellence
Reviewed: 09-05-22
Carrie Soto is a complex character that many cannot understand unless they too lost a mother at a young age or think a little deeper as to why she acts the way she does. She lacks the ability to show compassion and love like many who lost a mother at a young age, but just because she can’t show these traits doesn’t mean she lacks them, The different backgrounds we all have will show a different sides of Carrie which makes this one of the best book club reads in a while.
