This is one of the best books I have read in quiet sometime! It is one of those books that is hard to follow up! I wish that I would open up cupboards, cabinets, books etc. and find treasures. What fun that would be.

People say Beartown is finished. A tiny community nestled deep in the forest, it is slowly losing ground to the ever encroaching trees. But down by the lake stands an old ice rink, built generations ago by the working men who founded this town. And in that ice rink is the reason people in Beartown believe tomorrow will be better than today. Their junior ice hockey team is about to compete in the national semifinals, and they actually have a shot at winning.

Not My Favorite
Reviewed: 07-28-17
I usually love, adore Mr. Backman's books, but this one just failed to hit the mark for me. He made his point in the first few chapters that Beartown was a unique place all of it's own. High school athletes are above all rules and are allowed to get away with the unthinkable. The author spends way to much time winding up the ending, I skipped 3 or four chapters and joyfully made it to the end. I won't be re-reading this one. It wasn't worth the credit.
