Story
The world crashed to pieces on June 23rd and Adrian Ring wasn't anywhere near ready for it. He had no guns, no food, no friends around, a cat that wanted to slip out the back of the condo and a girlfriend trapped in the heart of the city. This is the story of how he survived. Real, flawed, and raw, Dark Recollections is Adrian's own story of how he survived after "That Day". Told through his eyes as he talks to his laptop, affectionately named "Mr. Journal".

This is a basic zombie series with a supernatural twist. I read the four book collection and it started off pretty good. While the story and characters were fine, the main character spends an increasing amount of time making jokes about, or referring to, poop, his penis, his erection, masturbation, and also refers to the women of the group as a team vagina. By book 4, it all becomes a bit much and I couldn’t help but think the main character is mirroring the author’s inner dialogue. Without the devolution of the story until it sounded like author was a 14 year old boy trying to impress his friends, I would have rated it higher.

Story
Posey Osterhagen can't complain. She owns a successful architectural salvaging company, she's surrounded by her lovable, if off-center, family, and she has a boyfriend-sort of. Still, something's missing. Something tall, brooding and criminally good-looking - something like Liam Murphy. When Posey was 16, the bad boy of Bellsford, New Hampshire, broke her heart. But now he's back, sending Posey's traitorous schoolgirl heart into overdrive once again.

Story
My little girl’s room is dark. Her bed is empty. I turn on her unicorn nightlight and bury my face in her pillow, my heart breaking. I know who did this. His name is Samuel Barlow. He has pale sallow skin and red-rimmed icy-blue eyes. But no one will listen. As darkness falls and rain lashes against the window, there’s a knock at my door and I open it to see those same eyes staring back at me. It’s his mother and she says she can help me find my daughter.

I just can’t give this book a good review. The first book I ever read of yours was The Paid Companion….AND I LOVED IT. Perhaps it was an unfortunate order for me to read your books, but so far there are too many repeating themes. A fiancé, running away with her lover, a fake engagement, scientists working in laboratories to create a secret weapon. I had to stop reading it early on. I think this copycat should be pulled from the shelves. Of course, I understand that later on it could be quite different. But the early similarities were just too much to take.

Story
The Earl of St. Merryn needs a woman. His intentions are purely practical - he simply wants someone sensible and suitably lovely to pose as his betrothed for a few weeks among polite society. He has his own agenda to pursue, and a false fiancée will keep the husband-hunters at bay while he goes about his business. The simplest solution is to hire a paid companion. Finding the right candidate proves more of a challenge than he expected.

This is the eighth consecutive book written by her that I have read. Just be sure to keep a box of tissues on hand for this one. It is an extremely sad but beautiful story.
