His best friend, a marine recon sniper, like always, was right by his side. Could they figure out this fantasy world? What does it mean to ascend? How will they master the magic of this strange place?

Story
Even when finding oneself engaged in interstellar war, good form must be observed. Our story is set thousands of years after the Terran Exodus, where two powerful, planet-dominating families - the elegant House Jakabitus and the less refined Hahn Empire - have reached a critical point in their generations-long war. Master Hennik, the Hahn ruler's only son, has been captured, and the disposition of his internment may represent a last and welcome chance for peace.

No really interesting more ridiculous
Reviewed: 02-19-19
In a word ridiculous, complete waste of time, if you must listen, you can skip the first 10 hours or so, the last 5 at least move the story along without too much idiocy about the formalities. PS liked his off to be a wizard series which is why i picked up this "book"

Story
We all have inner demons. We fight them all the time. Some of us achieve inner peace by coming to terms with them. But how do you come to terms with inner demons that tear free and become outer demons? Eric has been a vampire for nearly a century, and his demons are more than metaphors. While they controlled him, he was the Demon King. Now he has to avoid the monsters in his own mind, as well as angry nobles, fanatical religions, assassins, magi, other vampires, criminal organizations, and more.
