About this listen

Corporate flameout Ned Altimer dreams of leaving his world behind. So, when Earthblood Online splashes onto the VRMMO scene, he dives in and never looks back.

His advantages are twofold: exclusive access to the game’s three-day Head Start period, and a ridiculously handsome talking axe named Frank who has knowledge of the game’s deepest secrets...if the magnificent Frank ever feels like sharing them.

But those advantages also make Ned a target. Once the Head Start period ends, his fellow players will stop at nothing to rip that suave, violent, yet disarmingly charismatic axe right out of his hands.

In 72 hours, the greatest manhunt in gaming history is set to begin.

It’s gonna be a lot of fun.

LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

Pro-Level Writing in a genre dominated by amateurs

Well written, good and interesting story, multiple fully fleshed out story arcs, and great dialogue. Absolutely everything one could want in a LitRPG/Game lot story. The audiobook narration is also grade-A quality.

Highly, HIGHLY, recommended.

LitRPG at it's best

No harem
Very little cursing
No sexual content
Just excellent writing and wonderful interactions between believable characters. Steady pace of a fun escape into an imaginative well developed world. The 20 hours go by fast leaving you wanting the next book.

Don't even hesitate on getting this book.

A great litrpg for those familiar with them

If you’ve been around the litrpg scene then this book delivers on most fronts, cool items, cool power system, cool characters. While it doesn’t revolutionize the wheel or anything it is a great listen for those that are already familiar with litrpgs. Travis Baldree is a fantastic narrator and I’m surprised every time I listen to his voice at how well he manages to differentiate the characters and how much life he gives to them. Kyle Kirrin also shot up as one of my more favorite authors because of this book as well

This is a good one

I listen to a lot of litrpgs and this one felt good. Some of them feel clunky or the characters are somehow off but I liked this one. There was definitely an expeditionary force feel to it with the ax being like skippy which was really well done I think and added a lot to the story. This is a good one worth the credit for sure.

Amazing start to an awesome series

BEST book, BEST characters, BEST story, BEST game dynamics. I love how he made it to where Ned just wants to give up on reality to live inside this game. It makes sense and gives us a plausible reason to not be disturbed while enjoying this book. Im so in love with these books.

Two 1%ers fight over a talking axe in WoW clone.

This is actually a pretty good litrpg. The combat scenes are fun and the aforementioned talking axe is a very enjoyable character. He’s obviously a copy of skippy from the Expeditionary Force series but he’s well written, funny, and voiced fantastically. There are some plot holes and inconsistencies in what I feel like gaming companies and actual gamers would do or even legally could do. But it’s a fun book if your willing to look pass that. I do find it funny though that the premise of this whole book could have been null if one company just went with the standard line of “limit one per customer” stipulation for their most desired product.
