For how old this book is, it still keeps up with contemporary sci-fi. This book is essentially Dune meets the Count of Monte Cristo. Gotta love a good revenge tale :D

Story
Some say that to change the world you must first burn it down. Now that belief will be tested in the crucible of revolution: The Breakers and Burners have seized the levers of power, the smoke of riots has replaced the smog of industry, and all must submit to the wisdom of crowds. With nothing left to lose, Citizen Brock is determined to become a new hero for the new age, while Citizeness Savine must turn her talents from profit to survival before she can claw her way to redemption.

The demons have been defeated, along with their masters. At last, the Collen Basin is at peace. But that peace is a lie. The prince of Mallon is conspiring to wage war on Collen — and young Cally is the only one who knows of his scheme. He and his new girlfriend Myla rush to the basin to warn them. Yet the Colleners have only just begun to react when the Mallish vanguard arrives in force. Led by Inquisitor Vara, they swiftly take the city's children hostage — and deliver an offer of peace from the king.

If you’re this far in to the series you’ll be overjoyed. This side story fills in a significant character’s backstory. Tim Gerard Reynolds knocks it out of the park as per usual.
My only gripe is that we didn’t get to follow the main character to some new and interesting world. Still, it was thoroughly enjoyable.

This story has been surprisingly solid. I’ve checked out some of the author’s earlier works, whether it was the narration or the writing style, they left me feeling disappointed. This story, however, has been exactly what one should expect from a good fantasy novel. The writing style is vastly improved, the story is entertaining, and the characters are relatively solid. The characters, thus far, have had a steady growth and so has the authors command over the story itself. I’ve enjoyed this series and can’t wait for the next in sequence!

Story
Mage Errant: Publisher's Pack contains books one and two of the Mage Errant series: Into the Labyrinth and Jewel of the Endless Erg. Hugh of Emblin is, so far as he's concerned, the worst student that the Academy at Skyhold has ever seen. He can barely cast any spells at all, and those he does cast tend to fail explosively.

I’ve gone through all the great fantasy titles more than a year ago. I’ve been pilfering through random recommendations, because there are quite a few gems out there that I’ve found and adored hence. This isn’t one of the best books I’ve ever listened to, but what I think a fantasy audio book should do is entertain, and beyond that, who cares? This book was fun, entertaining, and didn’t leave me confused due to lack of detail. It flowed well, and I am planning on listening to the rest. If you’ve gone through The big fantasy authors and you want something new, give this a shot.

Will, a storyteller who’s convinced his weak magic makes him useless. And Sini, a former slave girl with unimaginable power but no way to wield it.

The trilogy wasn’t bad, solid story. I wasn’t expecting it to be all that great, I was pleasantly surprised. I like the first two books’ main characters more than the last, but overall definitely worth a credit.

Story
Long ago, the world fell into twilight, when the great empires of old consumed each other in sorcerous cataclysms. In the south, the Star Towers fell, swallowed by the sea, while the black glaciers descended upon the northern holdfasts, entombing the cities of Min-Ceruth in ice and sorcery. Then from the ancient empire of Menekar, the paladins of Ama came, putting every surviving sorcerer to the sword and cleansing their taint from the land. The pulse of magic slowed, fading like the heartbeat of a dying man. But after a thousand years, it has begun to quicken again.

At first it takes some getting used to the narrator, but it’s grown on me. This is your general high fantasy, go for it if you’re like me and can listen to fantasy endlessly :P
P.s. audible should toss out every review that says “I made it to such and such chapter and hated it so you should too, blah blah blah blah.” I cannot stand people that express an opinion they don’t have any right to. Finish a title before you regurgitate your self entitled nonsense please. When the wheel turns again, I pray the dragon reborn smites you, cheers.
