The protagonist was a little to dark and gloomy. I found it difficult to like him at all.

I love Weisner. However, this book would be one of my least favorite. I wanted to slap some sense into the main character. I mean … come on!

Story
Jane McCaffrey is only back in her hometown of Seneca Falls because of her father’s death. She swears she’ll leave again forever—it’s not like her childhood home holds any happy memories. But Jane hadn’t planned on bumping into Nik… The boy she fell hard for was a skinny teenager with messy hair and his glasses askew. Now he’s broad-shouldered and stands well over six feet tall: but his deep brown eyes are just the same. And when he breathes her name and caresses the fresh bruise on her cheek—like he can’t help but touch her—Jane is thrown right back to the best and worst time of her life.

Melissa Wiesner does it again. This book has it all. Trigger warning for domestic abuse. Tastefully written with a twist in the plot. Loved it.

Story
Goodness, I have no idea what I'm doing. I’m a virgin attempting to write a romance novel and I'm having an impossible time trying to write a passionate and swoon-worthy love scene worthy of being published, thanks to my lack of experience...This is the story of my awkward, humiliating, and slightly terrifying life, but like all romance novels, I know it will end in a happily ever after. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Too bad that I have to rate all 3 titles as a package. Book one was cute. It was funny. However, Book 2 began to feel ridiculous. The characters were obnoxious. By Book 3, I hated the characters. They were completely unbelievable. There was no growth in the characters at all.

William Waters grew up in a house silenced by tragedy, where his parents could hardly bear to look at him, much less love him—so when he meets the spirited and ambitious Julia Padavano in his freshman year of college, it’s as if the world has lit up around him. With Julia comes her family, as she and her three sisters are inseparable: Sylvie, the family’s dreamer, is happiest with her nose in a book; Cecelia is a free-spirited artist; and Emeline patiently takes care of them all.

Going down as one of my all time favorites
Reviewed: 01-30-24
I did not know what to expect when I purchased this book. It was a beautiful story of 4 sisters.
The joy, strength, courage, trials and tribulations of the girls (turned women) kept me interested and unable to stop listening. This book showed both the vulnerable and ugly side to the sisters. I highly recommend this book. It is well worth the read.
