About this listen
What makes a place feel like home? A mother's embrace, the warmth of new friendship, a sweet reunion-all can be found in these unforgettable stories....
Three's a Crowd - Fern Michaels
This Mother's Day will be the first in three years that Samantha Stewart has spent with her parents. And she's bringing a very special gift - the baby granddaughter they've never met. Sam's work as an overseas reporter was exhilarating and dangerous. Now she's seeking stability for little Caroline - and answers for herself - and finding them in a homecoming full of surprises....
New Beginnings in Blue Hollow Falls - Donna Kauffman
The moment she set foot in Blue Hollow Falls, Dubliner Katie MacMillan felt right at home. Back to help with her sister's pregnancy, she's contemplating her own future, especially when she confronts Declan MacGregor, her childhood tormentor and first crush. This Blue Ridge town was supposed to be a new beginning, but can it also be the setting for a second chance?
Bring Me Home - Melissa Storm
For Hazel Long, spending time with her bedridden father is bittersweet. There's comfort in the friendship offered by other hospital visitors - and the kindness of a handsome male nurse. And when Hazel's father begins to tell her the story of the mother she barely knew, it's an unexpected chance to bond, and a lesson in making the most of each new day.

Story
Fixing things has always been Alex McFarland's greatest gift and keenest pleasure. But with her own life thoroughly broken, she's signed on to renovate the dilapidated Pelican Point lighthouse, hoping to reconnect with herself. The last thing she expects is to find herself falling in love - with the glorious coastline, with age-old secrets and welcome-home smiles - and with rugged Logan McCrae, the man she just might be able to build new hopes on. Picked it up for 1st author Fern Michaels
Decent short stories, issue with narration for 2nd story "New Beginnings in Blue Hollow Falls" ...
I became confused when I thought the story was talking about another group "the clan". Then as I listened further it sounded like narrator was still saying one of the characters "Declan". Through the rest of the story it was evident that it was Declan being discussed. Then I thought,"Did I hear it wrong before? Was it always pronounced (de-clan') or as I thought I had heard before (dek'-lan)?
As much of a perfectionist about such things as I am, I went back to the beginning, and sure enough... for some reason the pronunciation of Declan's name CHANGED!
In previous audiobook I have been mildly offended by neighboring town's name being grossly mispronounced, product names being misprounced, even a state name being mispronunced -- but I just figured the narrators weren't aquainted with the local pronunciation. But how do you change a character's name mid-story??

Who allowed that narration to remain?
The stories are sweet. Nice escape literature. The narration of that second story however is about the worst I've heard. Terrible accents and basic pronunciations. Hey production team! Your authors deserve better! In fact, so does your narrator. Why would you release this as is?

Three Beautiful Stories
This book included three beautiful stories by three different authors. The stories were great. The narration was excellent with one glaring exception. The narrator consistently pronounced the Irish name Declan wrong. That drove me to distraction in the second story. I don’t understand why no one caught that error in editing, nor how the narrator could use an Irish accent yet not know how to pronounce Declan. Otherwise, very good book.
