Story
When Kerry Cohen reached her early 40s, she realized she had a drinking problem - just enough to blur the edges of her life that had become a monotony of working, carpooling the kids to school, and everyday distractions. What she also realized was that she wasn't the only one. Lush is a gripping memoir that examines Kerry's struggles with alcohol, a struggle that a rising number of middle-aged women are facing. Wonderfully poignant and relatable, Lush follows Kerry as she attempts to rediscover the awe in her life, leaving mistakes, regrets, and the bottle behind her.

He's arrogant. She's self-righteous. I hate him. I want her. I've been turning him down for two years straight. Every shutdown makes me work harder. I'm not a one-night stand kind of girl. She doesn't realize I won't settle for only one night. He's a distraction I don't need. She'll say yes eventually because I'm not giving up.

It could be a little raunchy but it is not distracting. This book is a page turner that leaves you wondering what will happen next. I will definitely read another Meghan March book. Hopefully it will not be too raunchy.

Made me a little sad, but overall an awesome book. There seems to be a recurring theme in Danielle Steele’s novels.

Four young women's lives intersect in the apartment they've shared in Hell's Kitchen: Claire, a shoe designer; Abby, an aspiring novelist; Morgan, a successful financial consultant; and Sasha, a resident in obstetrics. As different as they are from one another, the women had become a family by choice. But while their lives had proceeded smoothly in the years they'd lived together, new relationships, job opportunities, and surprising circumstances will test the strength of their bond in and outside the loft that had become their home.

In the years following the publication of her landmark memoir, Smashed: Story of a Drunken Girlhood, Koren Zailckas stays sober and relegates binge drinking to her past. But a psychological legacy of repression lingers-her sobriety is a loose surface layer atop a hard- packed, unacknowledged rage that wreaks havoc on Koren emotionally and professionally. When a failed relationship leads Koren back to her childhood home, she sinks into emotional crisis.

Difficult read.

I have listened to a lot of books on Audible and have never left a detailed review.
However I felt compelled to describe my experience with this book Fury. It was a difficult read. I can see why it took her 4 years to complete it. The story could have been much shorter. It was long and drawn out, constantly interrupted by unnecessary citations. Her descriptions were over wordy-excessively detailed almost to the point of distraction. I read her boomed smashed really quick because it was quite engaging. She wrote it in four months. If Fury was the first book that I read from Korin, I would not have read anymore of her books. The story is quite interesting as it details the conflicts she experienced with herself, her sister, mother, father and partner. I must say that is the reason why I kept reading. All the other information that she packs in the book could have been left out. I might read her other book. Mother, Mother. Although, I am quite hesitant to encounter a book that detours away from the main story to often drags on.

I will try her click approach and read the books that she recommends: Jack Trimpey and Kathryn Hansen ( I like buying new things). I appreciate her mention of the prefrontal cortex and the bratty part of the brain.

Mara spoke about what worked for her. The message that resonated with me is that you can NOT work out and eat whatever you want and expect weight loss results.
