tHIS BOOK TOOK MY BREATH AWAY
Reviewed: 07-18-21
Wow! This second book is just as good as the first. However, listening to this story, I remembered na old song perfect to describe this second book. The song say about lovers who denied They love. Look: “... i'm afraid to give you my heart, and confess that I'm in your hands (...) I walk away, I defend myself from you, but then I surrender.. I do things, I say things I’m not, but I denied. But the truth is, I'm crazy about you, and I'm afraid to think about losing you. It is necessary to accept that there is no more, to separate our lives (....)”
So thIS’S exactly what happens in this second book. While Clara and Aleric don't acknowledge their feelings, strong emotions await.

Wonderful!!!

I don't know how start... I don't know what won me first: f it was the wonderful voice of the narrators transported me into the story, or if it was the plot. But definitely, I'm a hostage and I don't want to break free.
The story is enchanting. No love at first sight. No no and no. The main characters hate each other, and little by little this hate is overcome by the knowledge / coexistence and the first signs of affection start to emerge. It is delightful to see how the characters disguise appearances, generate evidence... both refuse to admit that something is changing, and that what they believed to be an absolute truth was the result of prejudice and ignorance.

After read the Publisher summary and the customer’s reviews, I decided to buy this book. Iwas anxious to listen the story, but I but I was disappointed. The story entertained me, but it didn't win me over like a good story does. Based on what I read, I thought this was the kind of book that takes your breath away, and you don't want to put it down, but I didn't feel any of it.
The story reminded me of the book "Vincent's Immortal Curse". Except that here we have a good narrator: a woman who doesn't know what she is / who she is, who ends up kidnapped and is rescued by an angel / demon.
It was interesting to hear the book, but not enough to make me follow the next books.

The book is good. The story is interesting, but not to the point that it makes me want to know the other books in the series. I like fantasy stories, and this one is intriguing, but it's the kind of book that just reads enough for me.

Story
Every magician who wants to be great goes through an apprenticeship...a period of training under a master who will hopefully raise them to mastery themselves. For Emily, the time has come to begin her long-awaited apprenticeship with Void. She must master her powers or risk being destroyed by them. But as Void introduces her to levels and layers of magic she never even knew existed, she finds herself fighting desperately to keep up, to defeat challenge after challenge, to prove her worth to study under him, and to survive a training course that has killed lesser magicians.

Good story, but...
Reviewed: 07-10-21
I really like this series, I like the mystery, the manipulation, the secrets, the intrigue, everything in the plot. However, the latest books are getting a little tiring. Emil is turning into a character of no value or great importance to history. Although she is the main point of the plot, the character is mediocre.
In this book, which I would divide into two parts - learning with tutor Void, and the mission in the other realm, the character has no prominence at all. The story is tiresome, and it only improves when Emily is sent on a 0 test assignment.
Not to mention that there is the mystery of who is the character behind the plots. Who is the master in the shadows and what does he have against Emily?
In recent books this hidden character has been looking for allies, or rather, has sought to manipulate everyone who crossed paths with Emily and for some reason lost status and power.
It's getting tiring not knowing what the real motivations are or what the purpose is.
In this way, my feelings about the book are mixed. I liked it, but I struggled to listen to the book.

I've been waiting so long for this book that I was disappointed in the way the author handled the story.
It's a good story, there are moments to take the breath out, moments of suspense and fun, but after everything the characters have gone through, does it all come together out of nowhere? In the last chapter the author unravels the mystery behind Summr's engagement to the Prince of Spring. Characters that had never appeared, arise from the dead.... I didn't like it.
Overall, it's a good book, it ends the series without leaving anything out, but I didn't like the way the author presented it.

Story
Marvellously atmospheric tale of strangers summoned to a grand but neglected villa on the Italian coast. Each of them has been named in a will, but nobody knows their benefactress.... Four very different people are named in a will. Delia, an opera singer robbed of her voice by illness; George, an idealistic scientist who cannot face what his skills have created; Marjorie, desperately poor and unable to dislodge her writer’s block; and Lucius, ostensibly in control but whose personal life is in chaos.

I love it, because I don't expect a book like this
Reviewed: 06-27-21
I rarely write about books from the Audile Plus collection, but this one deserves an exception.
This book has been in and out of my Wish List several times until I decided to give it a try, and I have to say I regret it took so long to hear it.
I think the publisher's summary doesn't do justice to how wonderful this story is.
The book is much more than a gathering of unknown people around a heritage. The story is constructed in such a way that the reader knows each character in a special way, and follows the changes that occur in the lives of each one of them.
The book surprised me. I didn't expect to find what I found.
This book is very worthwhile to know. You can't regret it.
I started listening to this book with little interest, just to wonder if it was worth listening to until the end, or if it would be one of those books you hear and don't even know what you heard. But right at the beginning I was taken by the story, and with each chapter I immersed myself further in the charming Villa.

Story
Shadowvale isn’t your typical small town America. The sun never shines, the gates decide who enters, magic abounds, and every resident bears some kind of curse. Vampire Constantin Thibodeaux was cured of his sun "allergy" when he moved to Shadowvale. Now he runs the local bookstore, which is really just a sideline to filling his own library. Books, unlike people, are far more forgiving of his prickly nature. But he doesn’t care if people don’t like him. He is who he is. And he’s happy. Well, he’s content. Okay, he’s…fine.
