I loved the anime and was disappointed that there wouldn't be a second series soon. Then I saw that there was an English translation on Audible. Yippee.

Just finished the first book in the Arcane Casebook series by Dan Willis. I grew up reading Noir detective stories. Raymond Chandler, Nero Wolf, Ellery Queen. So throw in magic and it was great.

But I listened to the Audible and it was read by Vic Mignogna. Who did the voice of Edward Alric in Full Metal Alchemist. Spoiler for FMC, at the end Ed sacrifices his magic to save his brother, Alphonse. Soooooo. As I listened and it sounded like Ed I kept thinking, he lost his powers, moved to another city and learned a new magic system and became a private detective.

Anyway, great series. Definitely buying the next book soon.

This is the second "chapter" in the Lost Planet Homicide story. Once again Cade is dragged into the mystery that lays under the society of The Five Peaks colony. We learn just a bit more of the truth. I know there are more to come and look forward to them.

I read the book when it was first released. but when I found out it was on Audible I had to get it and listen to it. I had forgotten how good it is. I've heard she's working on a sequel. God, I hope so!
