The first several books were pretty good but towards the end it petered out. The word choices were strange at times and the voice actor’s pronunciations gave the impression that it’s AI.

It was an okay start. A bit lightweight but still a good story. I hope the next one is a bit longer.

Minalan the Spellmonger has come a long way since he woke up to a goblin invasion almost a decade ago. Since then, he has built cities and mighty armies, invented new enchantments, and pioneered entirely new fields of magic. Now that the Witch Queen of Darkfaller has taken over one of the most powerful castles in the center of the kingdom, he has to marshal all his resources—political, military, and arcane—to try to drive her from the strategic and symbolically important stronghold.

Story
The Aftermath of a stunning victory—especially an unexpected, complete, and final victory—should be high-fives all around, listening to politicians give boring congratulatory speeches, and a well-deserved rest for the Merry Band of Pirates. Yes, the galaxy is still a freakin' mess, but that is nothing new, and for a change, that can be someone else's problem. Until, you know, something really bad happens, and only the Pirates can deal with the problem... Or not.

Reviewed: 11-19-23
For a first series Miller did a really good job. The third book was the best of the three in my opinion and finished up the series well. I would’ve liked more story on the other characters but the author explained his reasoning in the afterwards succinctly.

Story
A natural storyteller and raconteur in his own right - just listen to Paddle Your Own Canoe and Gumption - actor, comedian, carpenter, and all-around manly man Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) brings his distinctive baritone and a fine-tuned comic versatility to Twain's writing. In a knockout performance, he doesn't so much as read Twain's words as he does rejoice in them, delighting in the hijinks of Tom - whom he lovingly refers to as a "great scam artist" and "true American hero".

I can see why this is the classic that it is. Twain writes in a way that is enjoyable for all ages. It’s interesting how the written word was used in his time and how much it has changed.
