Arrogant. Scornful. Full of pride. Darnuir, prince of dragons, cares nothing for the damage he's doing to the faltering alliance against the Shadow. He thinks himself invincible - right up till a mortal wound forces him to undergo a dangerous rebirthing spell, leaving him a helpless babe in human hands.

Twenty years pass, and demonic forces are poised to sweep across the land. With the alliance between humanity, dragons, and fairies fracturing, Darnuir will have to uncover the secrets of his past, seek redemption for his sins, and rally the disparate races if they are to survive.

Only Darnuir can do this. For, he's the last member of the royal bloodline, and only he can wield the Dragon's Blade.

His second chance is the world's last hope.

About the Creator

Michael R. Miller: Hailing from the wet and wild west coast of Scotland, Michael enjoys writing stories as sweeping in scope as the ancient landscapes he grew up in. His writing is known for rich character arcs, tight pacing, and layered magic systems. Songs of Chaos is his love letter to the dragon rider sub-genre, drawing inspiration from the classics like Pern, Dragonlance, and Eragon and combining them with the harder magic systems of Branden Sanderson and Will Wight, creating an epic tale all ages can enjoy.
Michael is also ‘that guy’ who enjoys-well, enjoyed... -discussing the mad fan theories of Game of Thrones even more than the books or show, and knows more about World of Warcraft than is probably healthy.

An evil, shadow god wants to conquer the world, all worlds in fact. The gods have distributed powerful swords to help the dragons fight the shadow. Will the dragons be able to overcome the shadow with the aid of fairies and humans? Will the races learn to get past their differences and work together? This is the stage for this epic story.

Overall, I enjoyed listening to these books. I cared about the characters. The way magic is dealt with is interesting as it is inherently dangerous to its practitioners. There is some romance, and it features amazing battles.

I liked how the books deal with moral issues including racism, how people can be led astray by their faith, selfishness vs self-sacrifice, and how we are influenced by our experiences. In general, I thought it dealt with those topics well. The characters are not perfect. They make mistakes and compromises, they may be prejudiced, and they may have suffered wrong at the hands of others. You will have to read the book to find out whether they seek peace and forgiveness or bitterness and hate.

An Epic, Grand Story

The story is really great, and the narrator makes the characters really come to life. I like the new spin on dragon's, and taking a sapient form. Definitely worth a listen, and its very smart over-all. I've listened to it 3 times, and I'll do it again. just for the adventure.

Love the narrative and execution of these books.

Coming off a couple full cast books I was weary at first diving back into a single narrator book so at first it took me a minute to get into it but once I did I couldnt stop definitely a good listen or read

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT

This was an excellent read. It is one of the most complete books trilogies I have ever read. The characters were solid and I did not always know what was next. Sometimes my assumptions were dead wrong and I loved it.

a perfectly imperfect book!!!

The story is almost a five star in my opinion. It's full of characters, a lot of them that sometimes are a bit confusing. But Mr Cruse's amazing narration, with each character, went a long way to keep it clear. Quite an epic adventure, with many heroes surfacing.

Amazing narration

Really enjoyed it. Had some parts that weren't as exciting as the rest of the books. But overall a good series.

Really good series.

I started this series not wanting to even go beyond half way through the first book. It started of very slowly. I'm glad that I stuck with it. The book started opening up and the world started to really shine. The character building truly started and boom I finished it. The only draw back was Cassandra. I absolutely hated this character. She was a main character that shouldn't have been. She's annoying, self centered and non valuable. The book literally could of done without her. She wasn't meant to be hated but she came of as such. Otherwise fantastic books. I came to this book because of his newer book series.

Amazing dragon tale
