These are well-written & engaging. I went through them way too fast! I like the “radio show” feel (without the ads) & loved that there were so many actors from shows I’ve enjoyed. As a Good Witch fan, I immediately recognized Kylee Evans’ voice & was delighted! Anna Cathcart (XO, Kitty & other shows) was a fun one, too! The caliber of ALL of the actors meant the characters were believable & started to feel like friends. I can’t wait for more!

Engaging characters, intrigue, humor & just a bit of steamy romance. This is my second Brynn Kelly book & I’m eager to read more. The readers were also good. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Engaging & fun

I was immediately struck by the imagery in the first few paragraphs that made me feel like I was there with the main character. All of the characters evoked feelings in me, all distinct & all making me want to read more. The story is engaging and fun & I love the way knitting is included in a way that’s true to knitters without alienating non-knitters. I also know I’m caught up in a story when a female narrator makes me forget she’s a female when voicing men. I look forward to the next book!!

Story
Desperate to escape from London, single mother Zoe wants to build a new life for herself and her four-year-old son Hari. She can barely afford the crammed studio apartment on a busy street where shouting football fans keep them awake all night. Hari’s dad, Jaz, a charismatic but perpetually broke DJ, is no help at all. But his sister, Surinder, comes to Zoe’s aid, hooking her up with a job as far away from the urban crush as possible: a bookshop on the banks of Loch Ness. And there’s a second job to cover housing: Zoe will be an au pair at a castle in the Scottish Highlands.

The character development is so engaging! I feel a whole range of emotions about them and then grow to love most of them so much that I feel sad when the story ends. I plan to buy this series, if not more of her books in paperback so I can keep them to read again. She’s also spot on with her insights into what it’s like to love reading, but then she would know, wouldn’t she?

This is so well-written and engrossing. The characters are believable and relatable & I felt a range of emotions for them - the heroes likable & the villains vile (although some you can almost get what drives them). I’m DELIGHTED that it’s included with membership and already look forward to the second in the series. I sincerely want to send Joy Ellis an thank-you note for writing it and Richard Armitage one for performing it.

The second our eyes connected, I felt the shift in the air. The crackle of fire igniting between us. He was dark, dangerous, and secretive. He came into my life like a storm, ripping apart everything I believed in, everything I thought I knew. With his mischievous smirk, stunning looks, and alluring behavior, I should’ve ran as far away from him as I could. But I was stupid. I trapped myself in his web.

Crazy, but enthralling!
Reviewed: 05-03-23
Ok, yes, the hero is more of an antihero (psycho) & the relationship is SUPER messed up, but it’s fiction, you can kind of see his side, it’s an engaging story & the sex is totally steamy. Even the THINKING about sex is steamy. Would I want to actually experience some of this? Nope. But reading about it was fun, even if I cringed at times. I think the authors handled the one (to me) cringe-worthy situation well and when this book came to an end I literally said, “WHAAT?!” and snatched up my phone to look for the sequel. Thank goodness the second book is also included with membership!

Story
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

The story kept me guessing the whole time & the narrator was excellent! Every now and then I’d have an inkling about a detail or two, but I never fully knew what was going on until the end, and that’s exactly how I like it. I became emotionally involved with the characters, and even at times felt angry at some of them. Beautifully written and engrossing!
