Listening to this is an emotional roller-coaster. But, worth the ride to understand the history of this plague the world faces. Western Civilization is at risk survival requires revival of the founding principles and no small part of that is remembering people and events that demonstrate those principles. This book speaks to the sacrifices made by our troops in persuit peace and preservation and propagation of liberty in the world. well done.

18 chapters in and the reader's tone hasn't changed. 18 chapters in and I'm still not feeling happy or uplifted. 18 chapters in and there's nothing cute or funny happening. the lead character, Kate, is not interesting. At all.
The story simply drags on and on.
Don't waste your time.

If you're going to dabble in to contemporary politics/activism you need to get it right. Antifa is only anti-fascist in the way brown shirts are anti-communist. The opposite of fascism is not socialism/communism or the other way around. That's a fallacy put forward by the bad actors themselves. The opposite is Liberty. Through all of human history it is the struggle between liberty and totalitarianism in it's many forms that plays out at all levels.

Reacher is the archetype of the individual at liberty. I felt his holding today's useful idiots up as some form of protectors sullied his image.

As always, I enjoyed the story overall (The Above Notwithstanding).

I really enjoyed the mix of story telling and technical data. I was hoping to hear about my favorite American Ace Pappy Boyington (having grown up with black sheep squadron). But, you can't have it all. I learned a lot and got some perspective.

I enjoyed the story and would have given it 5 stars. But, I am soooooo sick and tired of everything having to have 25% of the characters and 100% of the story driven by 0.05% of the population.

I read the second book in the series first and liked it. Had I read the first book first I never would have read the second. I might read the third book to give it a chance. But, if the third is like the first there will not be a fourth. Infact, I will not likely read the author again.

Any book that starts with support of an organization that was setup to exploit the emotions of people, create division among neighbors, insite people to destruction and murder and embezzle tens of millions of dollars, another that destroys the lives of peoole without due process and a third whos indicators of impending disaster are so farcical as to tarnish the few legitimate facts they present to the point that serious people need to qualify their belief in them so as not to get tarnished themselves, leaves little doubt that the author has zero credibility as a presenter of fact.

I wish I'd had read the reviews before I wasted all of this time. Bad on me.

I was intrigues by the summary about the idea of a tech heist. Our characters set out to right a wrong that started with good intentions. However, in typical heist fashion our heroine stumbles upon the solution she needs, just when she needs it. Too good to be true, right? Well, yes. Which means you'll have to suspend reality for a few hours. Overall the story is about finding the family you never knew you needed and doing good by going to the greatest -- and most improbable lengths -- to help the good guys win.

This is the worse thing I have ever listened to on audible. Audible is capable of some great stuff. How this slipped through the editorial/publishing process I have no idea. James Patterson is getting old and his editorial judgement is slipping.
