Romi Annoying As Hell
Reviewed: 07-05-24
I hate this FMC with the power of a thousand suns. Juvenile, simpering, clingy, arrogant, dumb as hell. While I like Xander’s character, he sounds like a 70 year old English lord so I skip over his intimacy scenes with the fool. I don’t know if I will get through this book and glad it was free. Definitely not going to Book 3. The story is good and has so much potential…I just can’t with Romi.

Outstanding story! Annoying FMC
Reviewed: 07-02-24
What an amazing series! The story had so many twists and turns. Thoroughly enjoyed it. But though SJM really tried to make the FMC a badass heroine, she just came off as annoying, arrogant, and immature. Everything doesn’t need to be a potty-mouthed, smart retort. It was annoying and by the middle of the second book, I started hitting that skip button when she was about to put on one of her shows.

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Really??
Reviewed: 06-20-24
I had such high hopes for this book because it started off so good. Then, it went so horribly wrong. The FMC was so incredibly likable. Why was she reduced, yet again, to simply being their broken plaything? Sadly, she just became a low class harpy that tries too hard to fit in. Why does everyone have the same British accent? EVERYONE! The only differences were a couple of very minor characters. Why does Diesel sound like maniac…CONSTANTLY. Why is the book so long with not a lot of story? Oh well, got this on sale so not a lot of investment outside of my time.

Story
When my grandfather, a shipping tycoon, went missing, I quickly discovered that there are some problems that money can't solve. And this frightening situation was one of them. I didn't think things could possibly get worse, but then I woke up. To a monster standing over me. With his hand covering my mouth. My reluctant captor, Viktor, with his clipped Russian accent and scary looking guns, operates with military precision. Don't even get me started on his rules. As he drags me across the globe, we are plunged into a dark world that is filled with danger and violence.

Orders of magnitude better than Book 1
Reviewed: 06-15-24
So glad I gave this one a chance after wanting to set Book 1 on fire (if I had a physical copy). This one had everything. An actual story, an FMC that wasn’t dizzy in the head and was likable, an MMC that dreams are made of, and so on and so on. THIS is how you do it!

Another predictable young, dumb FMC
Reviewed: 06-14-24
Why authors, why?!?! Why must 90% of FMCs in these romance books be young , dumb, and frickin’ annoying? Is it easier to write? I skipped the audio every time she talked after Ch 10. Eventually I gave up. Life is too short for a bad book. Also, I wouldn’t classify the MC as mafia….this was more like a gang with Russian grownups as members. Also, I echo another reviewer when they said it time to switch genres. I switched to mafia romance from romantacy but it’s the same over here too. Sigh

100/10! It’s the darkest one in the series and for some reasons, I skipped the spice scenes between the FMC and MMC. The age gap after all her trauma bothered me. That being said, I think only an older man could accept and help her through what she has endured. Also, the books based on the Russian mafia have the best stories and sexiest MMCs.

Rules. I know them, but I didn't follow them. I moved into his city, his domain without approval. Now, it's time for me to pay the price. Marry the cold, calculating Don of La Cosa Nostra—the man many have never seen or could recognize—and be bound to the mafia forever. But when he comes to collect me, I realize that this isn't the first time we've met.

Least fave so far but…

The first 2 were essentially 10000/10 and the third was a 10/10. This one was 3 for me. FMC had the typical “By George!! I’m a badass and everyone must see me as such” storyline. MMCs possessiveness grew to insecure weakling unhinged as opposed to sexy unhinged. I also didn’t like the relationship between the two. She was so desperate for his attention and used immature manipulation tactics. I mean, had I known ahead of time that she was 18/19, I probably would’ve skipped this one. Anywho, his dumba$$ fell for it every time because he thought he needed to on Medicare at 35. In general, they just felt kind of like a weird master/slave dynamic towards the end. A bit cringe but I pressed through. Spice felt like filler in several instances…SEVERAL. They basically had no story

The Italian and Russian mafias are at war, and it is brutal. We’re both ruthless, relentless, and unforgiving. But then the decision is made to merge our worlds—a marriage between the two sides: the most beautiful woman of the Italian mafia and the Bratva's most feared monster. I loved her from afar for so long, and I finally get to have her as my own. But will she run away when she realizes who I really am?

Ma’am! Seriously! A million out of 10! I knew I loved the first book and listed all the reasons why Ms Neva knocked it out of the park. While I was excited for Book 2, I can’t deny that I had doubts. I just knew something was going to go wrong and I wouldn’t enjoy it as much. I figured the FMC would be annoying. The story would be lacking…something!! What I did not expect was to love this even more! The couples are so lovable and this one was no different! You WANT to root for them. You want to kick the butts of anyone who hurts them. BOTH FMC and MMC. The story line was even better. Also, shout out to the narrators again. Phenomenal job and their Russian is so incredibly sensual. I always thought it a harsh language but no longer!

Neva!! How did you do it?!?
Reviewed: 06-03-24
1000/10 for sooo many reasons. Favorite couple that I instantly rooted for and wanted to win. For once, FMC is not annoyingly immature or cartoonish. Bar none, most relatable FMC I’ve read since getting into fantasy/romance. She was in love, not taking 30 chapters to admit it and act on it, and still seemed like she retained much of herself afterwards. I was losing hope with FMCs in this genre. The MMC had the right amount of unhinged possessiveness. There was an actual story here. Spice wasn’t just a space filler. It was beautiful, tasteful, and incredibly sexy. Narrators were top tier! Bravo to all! I’m off to buy and download everything Ms Neva puts out.
