Ray Porter always brings characters to life. Much respect for the mind that can create such a story. I wish that a female would do the female characters.

No virtual voice please
Reviewed: 09-15-24
The story content is ok, but where was the editor? I heard so many mistakes that the author and editor should be embarrassed. The virtual voice is a bad idea. The machine doesn't know how to interpret. "She" was not on point. I'm disappointed in the whole concept. Much more virtual & I'm going back to reading the books myself.

I listened to the 9 book set. The story leaves me wanting more. The story, events & characters are believable. Honestly, I would've enjoyed it more if there there was an additional narrator or another who can pull off the various characters.

I'm a die-hard fan: however the last few books haven't seemed like The Man himself wrote them. There's something missing. I'm not ad enthralled. Specifically in this book, Holly, I was put off by the use of more British terminology. Where's the good ol' New England guy? The characters are American, living in the U.S.

Annoying word really. I hear the kids say it a lot. it sums up this audio book. the author usually gives us a better story. a little disappointed, but it happens.
The narrator, Caroline Shaffer. I sincerely dislike listening to her. sadly, her annoying diction leaks through to the other characters . making me feel that's how she talks I. her life outside of 'performing'. People that have to hear voice, you have my empathy.

Story good; didn't like narration
Reviewed: 01-16-23
The book was pretty good. I didn't like the narration. I listened to other books narrated by Mr. Rummel & I didn't enjoy listening to him. I almost didn't give the book a chance bc of who was reading the book. In my opinion, the author has some growing to do. The book was a little cheesy at times. Maybe a different narrator could've made it work, idk.

A big celebration is in the works, but Allan really isn't interested (and he'd like a bit more control over his vodka consumption). So he decides to escape. He climbs out the window in his slippers and embarks on a hilarious and entirely unexpected journey, involving, among other surprises, a suitcase stuffed with cash.

I like the narrator
Reviewed: 01-15-23
In this book, the narrator is not creating voices to represent the character, not much anyway. So many so called voice actors try changing their voices to represent the opposite sex or children. They sound ridiculous. just awful. I truly enjoyed listening to this narrator.
