Story
When quiet Orrin and his extroverted best friend, Daniel, were transported to a strange RPG-based world, not much changed between them. Daniel became a hero of legend, while Orrin remained his unobtrusive shadow. Only when they faced a particularly lethal foe did Orrin step out of his comfort zone and display his true worth—with powers he didn't know he had. Of course, Daniel got all the glory, but Orrin doesn't mind. He's just happy they're both still alive.

Story
Jack Diller is just one more struggling actor on the road to nowhere. He’s got an agent who barely remembers his name, his ex-girlfriend has hooked up with a Silicon Valley dude, and the milk in his fridge is so far past its sell-by date it’s historic. The only way Jack can scrape together a bare existence is by delivering food to exactly the types of successful people he wishes he could be. Then, one day, a very strange audiobook shows up on his phone.

I wasn't sure I would like this book, and I'm not going to lie, I didn't enjoy it and never really got into the book. That is until the last 20 minutes, which made it all worth pushing through to the end. Would recommend!

Story
When it comes to action and adventure, every hero needs a good sidekick. Holmes has Watson, Batman has Robin, and Daniel has . . . Orrin. More like brothers than friends, they always have each other's backs. And as Daniel is the big, strong, handsome type, Orrin is more than happy to remain in his shadow at school, at parties, pretty much everywhere. Then things take a turn for the truly weird when a terrible accident catapults the pair into a world totally unlike their own, in which the rules of a role-playing game hold sway.

A good RPG

I enjoyed this book, it is well written and is one of the better stories I've read in this genre. I also liked that it's written in the perspective of the sidekick. My only complaint is the flat voice that is always used, even during the character dialog. I did get used to it but the experience would have been much better if the narrator hadn't broken character every time a stat or ability was mentioned.

I have really enjoyed this series. The quality of each book has been consistent with the first. It's a little silly, but that's how it's supposed to be. The dialog is entertaining, and the story has been interesting. a nice light listen while at work.

I've listened to this book twice now, and it was just as good the second time. Sanderson is a great world builder, and has such a great way of creating characters with amazing twists and arcs, and this series is no exception. 10/10

Story
Just yesterday, Ben was a petty criminal getting by on fleecing New York’s one-percenters. Today, he's got a new face, a new name, and a new world to navigate. And Ben’s thinking maybe this time around, he’ll use his skills at disarming and deceiving to help out people other than himself. Maybe. Watching a medieval City Guard fight off a 20-foot-tall ooze that crawled up from the sewers will make you think twice about life decisions.

Story
Cassie Hanwell was born for emergencies. As one of the only female firefighters in her Texas firehouse, she's seen her fair share of them, and she's excellent at dealing with other people's tragedies. But when her estranged and ailing mother asks her to uproot her life and move to Boston, it's an emergency of a kind Cassie never anticipated. The tough, old-school Boston firehouse is as different from Cassie's old job as it could possibly be. Hazing, a lack of funding, and poor facilities mean that the firemen aren't exactly thrilled to have a "lady" on the crew.

The first part of the book was wordy and boring, but I'm glad I didn't give up on it. I really related to how Cassie dealt with her emotions and could see how I might make similar decisions if I was in her shoes. overall really enjoyed the book.
