Clyde Hatchett's latest adventure finds him wrongfully imprisoned, accused of striking the princess herself. With a death sentence hanging over him and time running out, Clyde's only hope lies in completing a series of impossible quests. Because in Glaton, being innocent isn't enough to save your neck-especially when you owe people favors.

Too much time in locations already well covered in the other series. There wasn't a need to spend so much of the book on that location.

Story
Digby secured a fragile peace agreement between the empire and Las Vegas. While it’s been only two weeks since then, the city has thrived. A lot can change when no one is trying to smite you off the face of the earth. Unfortunately, more success just means more to lose, and with Henwick hell-bent on finishing what he started, Digby needs power. Enough to protect himself, his friends, and the all-too-fragile peace.

It's good. There are some repetitive slice of life bits but over all it feels like a good d&d campaign.

The SPOILER is a bit too telenovela
Reviewed: 10-21-23
The big plot twist is too predictable I guessed it around the beginning of the book and thought that it was too much like a soap opera or telenovela for it to be the outcome. I was wrong. Shame. Still the writing is excellent and the performance is stellar so it's fine. This will be my first complaint about the series so far so that's one hell of a record.

Story
Greg and Julian need to make a choice—die in the tornado that’s sucked them up in their van, or agree to hunt monsters in a world full of magic and levels and, oh yeah…monsters. The two frat bros may be master ghost hunters to their podcast listeners, but they never expected their antics to be taken seriously by a goddess in another dimension. And since when are ghosts the same as monsters? Awkward. But when the other option is certain death, it seems like it’s worth giving it the old college try.

Story
Land-ho! Clyde and co. have finally—finally—made it to the City of Darkness. Which turns out to actually exist! One small problem though. Anyone and anything that sets foot on the island immediately disappears. Ceases to exist. Poof. To complete the quest, Clyde needs to figure out how to actually enter the city and steal the crown jewels . . . without getting stuck in the town forever. It's a foreboding, dark place (obviously), where corruption is rampant. And maybe worse: the game rules Clyde's gotten so good at bending to his will? They don't seem to apply.

Finally A Little More Insight on Faries

If you’re following this world you’re not surprised to learn that the Fae have a connection to “our world.” More of this is explored around the edges of the narrative and it’s interesting to note the numerous Shakespeare references.

The story was good and people complaining about “virtue signaling” are themselves ironically virtue signaling. This who, in 2023 of all times, can’t handle a little rudimentary commentary on gender and race relations in the United States are intellectually weak.

Story
Noah Tamino's the sort of healer who bursts into tears whenever you remind him that field mice don't live in little mushroom houses. And now, Gods help us all, he's been chosen as the new Hero-King of Aries. As if Noah didn't have enough on his plate! I mean, come on, his fiancee is gone, and he spent the past month being tortured by House Koschei's mastermind, "Little Astrid" herself. Sadly, there's a chain reaction of disaster and civil war going on, so abandoning the Hero-King business is out of the question.
