Story
The world has changed. Now, when someone is murdered, they almost always come back to life—and there are professionals, called “dispatchers”, who kill in order to save lives, to give those near the end a second chance. Tony Valdez is a dispatcher, and he has never been busier. But for as much as the world has changed, some things have stayed the same. Greed, corruption, and avarice are still in full swing.

Story
In the years since Lindon left Sacred Valley, he has attained power beyond anything his family thought possible. Now he’ll have to put those powers to the test, because a Dreadgod is on its way. Lindon and his allies set out to evacuate the valley before the arrival of the Wandering Titan, but their sacred arts are weakened by an ancient curse. They’ll have to persuade the squabbling inhabitants of Sacred Valley to leave behind their home and set off into the outside world. But it has been a long time since Lindon left, and more has changed than he realized.

This series just keeps getting better and better. In the last review I wrote I mentioned lower scaling. We’ll, the power scaling keeps up the pace and continues to get even crazier. But as entertaining as that is, that isn’t what makes this story great. What makes this story great is the exceptional chars development that takes place throughout the story.
Furthermore, the Narrator, Travis Baldree, is putting on a master class in narration with this series.
Excellent work.

Power Scaling Gone Mad

The power scaling in this book is pretty wild. If you’re into that kind of thing you’ll love this series.
Over the last few books I’ve really grown to enjoy the story and characters.

Story
Lindon has a year left. When his time runs out, he’ll have to fight an opponent that no one believes he can beat. Unless he learns sacred arts the right way, from scratch, he won’t have a chance to win...and even then, the odds are against him. In the course of their training, he and Yerin travel to the Blackflame Empire, where they fight to master an ancient power left behind by a fallen clan. This is Lindon’s chance to learn a true Path, but there are those who do not wish to see these lost techniques revived.

Getting better
Reviewed: 08-30-22
The story definitely gets better the further along the series gets. The main character becomes more likable as he gets stronger, which in and of itself is a major improvement to the story.

This was a really good discussion of some of the basic psychology and micro economics at play in the crypto market, and markets more broadly.
