Story
When Ruby McTavish Callahan Woodward Miller Kenmore dies, she’s not only North Carolina’s richest woman, she’s also its most notorious. The victim of a famous kidnapping as a child and a widow four times over, Ruby ruled the tiny town of Tavistock from Ashby House, her family’s estate high in the Blue Ridge Mountains. But in the aftermath of her death, her adopted son, Camden, wants little to do with the house or the money—and even less to do with the surviving McTavishes.

So many twists and turns
Reviewed: 01-21-24
I loved the way this story was written and how it kept me listening so intently from start to finish. So many different twists! Also, the narrators were perfect for their characters which is extremely important. So glad I came upon this book!

Amazing story!

Loved this book. I don’t often write reviews, but wanted to give one for this story. Lots of twists and turns, kept me engaged so that had a hard time putting it down. The narrator was excellent and I’m picky about the narrator. This story wasn’t cheesy or predictable-excellent.

Story
First rule of being a nanny? Don’t fall for the single dad, even if he is smoking hot. But that’s exactly what happens when grumpy small-town sheriff Asher Whitlock reluctantly hires me to take care of his daughter for the summer. Neither of us is thrilled with the arrangement, but he’s desperate for help, and I need the money for grad school this fall.

This was a great story and the narrators were perfectly cast. I didn’t want it to end! Can’t wait for the second story in this collection to come out.

Disappointing
Reviewed: 07-30-23
I typically love anything that Colleen Hoover writes, but not this one. The daughter was extremely whiny and I hated to listen to her character. None of the characters were likable and the story line was really anti-climactic. I wish I hadn’t wasted a credit on this one! I kept wishing it would get better but never did. One or the worst books I’ve listened to
