Story
A wretched maid of honor. A hangover from hell. Raucous Mardi Gras crowds. There isn’t much Serena Khan is enjoying about this four-day New Orleans destination bachelorette party for her semi-estranged cousin, the bride-to-be. UNTIL sparks fly with a handsome stranger, who—like her—is also from Seattle, at the ladies’ last stop of the evening, a Bourbon Street bar. After their conversation is cut short, Serena is overwhelmed by the desire to find the charming man with the brooding eyebrows, but her list of clues is pretty short.

Unexpected surprise
Reviewed: 05-21-25
This book was kind of a breathe of fresh air. Our FMC went on a journey and made a lot of mistakes, but some good choices too. She discovered much more about herself than I would have assumed going into a story like this. And the ending was satisfying in way that I couldn’t have imagined and the Julian plot twist was a shock.

This was an incredible retelling. It was still original even being a retelling and the feels it made me feel were wild. I cannot wait to read more things by her. The cast of voice actors really lent depth to the story I would highly recommend.

Loved every second of this. The story and characters are amazing. And the pacing was phenomenal. At each new stage I thought so much has happened how can there still be this much book left. And I am so glad there was! Also ending was great tied up enough but left room for more in the future possibly which I loved. Incredible for a debut novel.

Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. Same old snow
Reviewed: 11-22-23
This prequel wasn’t as compelling as the original series. Snow is such an unlikeable character and while I should have expected that I didn’t. I figured if their was an entire book about him being a mentor in the hunger games we might get a more interesting tale about him, kind of like the maleficent movie.
But if you’re expecting maleficent you will be sorely disappointed. The interesting part about this book was how different this hunger games was from the version we see in book one of the original trilogy. It’s definitely an interesting-ish book if you’re a long time fan of the original series, but I think I could have skipped the read and just watched the film in 2023.

This hilarious, heartfelt, and soaring adventure will delight fans of The Goonies and Indiana Jones. Performed as a 1930s radio drama, it’s bursting with humor for all ages, orchestral scoring, and some of the most talented voices on Broadway. When their ace pilot parents (and adorable puppy) mysteriously disappear over the Pacific, the Flamingo Sisters - Flo, Faye, and Franny - escape the clutches of their evil Uncle Freidrich (who believes girls should never pilot aeroplanes) and join a flying circus.

I'm the exception. I think I enjoyed glass sword more than kings cage. However, I enjoyed the multiple POVs offered....BUT Cameron's was awful. She lost of the zest and bite and sass that Mares voice actor gave her. Not to mention if one voice actor does accents for other characters all the voice actors need to follow suit for consistency.

Bad Voice but Great Story
Reviewed: 03-08-17
This story was very interesting. The voice actor was awful but the story kept me engaged. I didn't enjoy the instalove portion but I loved the technical portions and all the problem solving. And really diving into what leadership should look like. Definitely worth the read but I hope the next one has a different actor!!!
