Story
Five years ago, Coburn went to sleep - wasn't exactly planned - and he's just woken up to find most everybody in the world dead. And not cool, interesting dead like him; oh, no. Coburn looks basically human, and these guys...really don't. He likes blood, and they like flesh. He's smart; them, not so much. But they outnumber him by about a million to one, and their clotted blood cannot sustain him.

Story
When the Imagine Network commissioned a documentary on mermaids, to be filmed from the cruise ship Atargatis, they expected what they had always received before: an assortment of eyewitness reports that proved nothing, some footage that proved even less, and the kind of ratings that only came from peddling imaginary creatures to the masses.

MERMAID MADNESS what a rush. For a short story it sure came packing of lot of terror and bloody mayhem. And we like that don't we? I like how the story is presented. it's like found footage, only in words instead of tape. And you don't miss a thing.

I absolutely love gothic and mildly depressing stories which are poetic but go nearly nowhere. Coming of age tales where the ending could be anything? Love It. tragedy on a Shakespearean level

what's nice about the snow (and the whole series really) is that, while It's horror fiction, MR MAXWELL doesn't get overly descriptive about the deaths that occur in the story
