Story
Arden was left in the village by a dying mage, who never returned. With no way out of the village on his own, he had always held onto the hope that one day his magic would awaken and give him access to his spheres. But he’s about to turn eighteen and it’s never come. Instead, he’s settled into his lot as a sarcastic and quick-witted innkeeper. That all changes one night when his old flame, who escaped the village to become a mage’s anchor, returns. Ard’s life is about to go through some dramatic changes, and he’s not ready for them.

Excellent story and start of a new series with fantastic narrators.
Reviewed: 04-10-24
This story is a start of a new series and I believe it will be the author’s best yet. The storyline is very intriguing, the MC is not too OP. The MC is just very relatable and his behavior is believable for his age and situation. I really also found the character interactions very enjoyable and fun.
The narrators were very good. The MC’s voice and speech patterns matched my mental image very closely. The other characters voices were consistently done very well. It is a pleasure to have both the male and female voices done so well. I have read the book and I have to say that the audio book is even better than the written book. This is not to common for me so I know it was an excellent narration. I can’t wait for the next audio books in the series to be released and I hope the same narrators are used.

Another solid entry int the series
Reviewed: 11-09-23
This was a solid new book int the series. I felt it tied up a lot minor plot elements with regards to neighboring areas. While nothing major changed in the MCs plan, a twist at the end was unexpected and will be interesting in the future books. I am eagerly awaiting the next book

Better than expected.
Reviewed: 08-20-23
This was better than expected. The MC was different in that he was not able to overwhelm opponents by sheer force. Or by quickly leveling. Instead it was tactical knowledge of modern small group infantry tactics that was the key. The narrator did a good job.

An excellent continuation of a great sci-fi AI series
Reviewed: 08-13-23
This 3rd book is a strong continuation of an excellent Sci-Fi story around AIs and their impact on society. This series avoids many of the typical story lines and is well worth the reading. The narrator does a phenomenal job of voicing the characters enhancing an already great story.

Reviewed: 04-20-23
This series seems to get better as the series goes on. The MC has really come to life and the supporting staff has been fleshed out very well. This is a story that could hold its own in any fantasy genre. The narrator does an excellent job with the reading. Overall all this was excellent and I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

In a blink, I found myself in an unknown land, greeted by the textbox of an unfriendly system. It wanted me to become a great hero, save the world, win the love of the people and all that crap. But this new world already had a hero. Why should I bust my ass and deal with dragons and the unknown for people I didn't know? Let him deal with that. It's his job! So instead of being tempted by the system's nonsense, I chose a simple class. Potion maker. I wasn't interested in cultivating mana and defying the heavens, courting death, none of that crap.

This was much more fun than I was expecting. It was funny and interesting take on the LitRpg and reincarnation in another world stories. The OP MC doesn’t want to be a hero. While this is common in the genre the way the hero just decides to live a simple life is quite refreshing as he doesn’t turn in to whining or annoying character. The MC is intelligent and makes reasonable choices. I am looking forward to book 2 and will buy it as soon as it is released

Dungeon: a place full of monsters, traps, treasure, and death. Those are the Great Dungeons, with unplumbed depths below the roots of the mountains. That's not for me. Dungeon: a place of rape, torture, and death, to control and corral enemies and slaves. These are the Red Cores, from which the mage-kings draw their power. That's also not for me. I don't like monsters. I don't want adventurers. I want to stay well away from enemies and slaves. Fortunately, there are alternatives....

Fantastic story that well above most in the genre
Reviewed: 06-29-22
This story exceeded my expectations in almost every way. It was well thought out and executed. The progression of the MC was well paced. The character’s personality were realistic and fun. The explicit parts were well done and and were clearly defined in the chapter titles so you could skip them easily and not miss out on the story. The explicit scenes felt like a natural but minor part of the overall story. I really enjoyed this story.
The narrator was well paced and easy to understand. He added appropriate feelings to his voice. The only improvement was that I could have wished for was for the was more variety and femininity in the female character’s voices. This was a minor complaint and the narrator did an excellent job with the female voices as far as pacing and emotional content went,

Tom Taylorson’s ability to vary pace and cadence made this a joy to listen to.
