About this listen

Neo Babylon's neural implants are iconic—and are now implicated in a mass murder that threatens the foundation of the city.

Detective Nick Waite finds himself struggling with the case. He's spent his entire life without a neural implant, excluded from the Altnet, and now needs to investigate a crime steeped in it.

Nick will need to rely heavily on his subordinates, the city's elite police Archangels. Unfortunately, the deployment of the new prototype, Ezekiel, is threatening to cause a schism in their ranks if he doesn't intervene.

Tensions rise almost by the hour while he investigates. Babylon's corporate overlords are at each other's throats while its people stage virtual protests. If the tensions boil over before Nick identifies the culprit, the city's dark history might repeat itself.

Real slow burn but enjoyable & hooking!

I love this series, but this one was slow. Amazing but slow. Maybe a bit faster pace, more action, maybe more dangerous situations in between. I love the mystery and the plot, action, and intimate moments. Amazing ending! I can see a few more books out of this series I hope before the new series really takes off. I will continue to buy and listen to this series!❤️

Progressing nicely

Enjoyed this as much as the last 2, S.S. did a great job voicing all the characters.

If You've Made it this Far...

Know that series continues to get better. More intrigue, more detective work, more dolls, and more enjoyment from a talented VA.

Both the book and narrator are some of the best in the genre. Great listening experience.

The dolls steal the show again

It really says a lot about a book when the interactions between main characters are what really keep you locked in. There are some conversations that can drag just a bit but those are few. The world building is top tier and the character progression feels satisfying because of it. Cannot wait for the next mystery set in this unique world.

KD Robertson is still one of the best in the genre

... And this series proves it. Simply one of the best at writing engaging plotlines.

The androids are fun while raising some philosophical questions. The banter between the MC and the androids provide some great entertainment.

As always there is a murder mystery to solve in the corporate dystopian cyberpunk setting and it's all layered in secrecy, mystery and plot twists.

Stephanie Savannah always brings her A game and it shows.

Great AI Cyberpunk World

Robertson did another wonderful job. Great story and great characters. One of the reasons I enjoy this series is the amount of character development we see in the different AIs. Too many "harem" books blow off the supporting characters, fortunately Robertson doesn't.
