About this listen

In a blink, I found myself in an unknown land, greeted by the textbox of an unfriendly system.

It wanted me to become a great hero, save the world, win the love of the people and all that crap. But this new world already had a hero. Why should I bust my ass, deal with dragons and the unknown, for people I didn't know? Let him deal with that. It's his job! So instead of being tempted by the system's nonsense, I chose a simple class. Potion maker. I wasn't interested in cultivating mana and defying the heavens, courting death, none of that crap.

Unfortunately, the town I spawned near was suffering crippling inflation, merchants and people were leaving, and they themselves lacked high-demand businesses. The town would soon be going under.

Not if I have anything to say about it.

But will it be that easy to escape fate...?

Novel contains: Strong MC in a slice of life environment, dungeon diving, boss battles, cultivation and elements, mana/magic, mc exclusive system but it doesn't do the work for him, treasures, adventurers, slow world building, build-up, features that will not be introduced all at once (upgrades so on), actual good loot at the end of very powerful bosses, romance (no harem). As characters develop throughout the series, issues and emotions and even the mc may find himself in a corner or two. A story of an upcoming potion shopkeeper and his apprentices.

Building an S-ranked Potion Shop is easier said than done...

Great start to a promising new series!

This was a fun adventure and I'm looking forward to the next installment. Hopefully, the author fills us in on the backstory explaining why the MC has an extreme, unreasonable, and seemingly unfounded bias/opinion of an entire group/class of people he's never encountered before, in the next book.

A quiet life just isnt allowed

I really enjoyed this book simply for the fact that I love the odd isekai MC's who try to buck the system and always have it go wrong. This was a great introduction to this series . I cant wait for book two of this series to see where to story goes and happens next.

Matt Hicks and Allie Piper did an amazing job with the story narration and giving life to the characters.

Spectacular new series!

I’m a big fan of Atwater’s Anime Trope System series and I was excited to see he had a new series out. The plot and narration was top notch and I wasn’t disappointed! I can’t wait for the next book!

Great story, Good read, tangents and comma-periods

I love the story! Main character who isn't dense as hell, knows what he wants from a new life and doesn't pine for Earth? And he gets an actual wife (fiancée) instead of a harem?? Love it! Sometimes he goes off on tangents, or assumes the reader thinks something ridiculous when I'm not, which is mildly annoying. Matt Hicks is a great narrator! Allie Piper does a good job with emotions and urgency in tone, but for Pete's sake, commas aren't periods! Full stops in the middle of sentences throughout the book grate on my patience.
Overall, great book! Excellent story, with some pitfalls in narration. I do recommend the read!

loved it

At time of writing this, I listened to this book 4 times now. I find it to be funny and light hearted, while still having get invested in the characters and their well-being. It's a great series to get into when you want a break from emotional Rollercoasters.
