Another great book by Loreth Anne White! Complex characters with natural emotions and feelings. You don’t only want to know “who did it” but you want to know how each character’s story will conclude. Loved!

I did not know what to expect having never read or listened to this author but I was very much delighted with this read. The story is very detailed and the characters are so real and relatable that you find yourself lost in this little town feeling as though you lived the story with them. A little easy to guess a few things but the hows and whys make it all so much better.

Good story a little drawn out

The narration was great! There were moments that felt unnecessary or drawn out, but otherwise a really good story really good plot and you were left guessing the majority of the book.

Anticlimactic

Maybe it was the narration but the story was drawn out and very odd. Facts were added as an afterthought to justify circumstances that seemed very outlandish and not at all natural. The ending was a huge let down and the story never really had those “holding your breath” moments of suspense nor the moments of total ahock with a great plot twist.

Story great but…

This narrator made it BEYOND DIFFICULT to finish this book. Nothing was said smoothly or as one would naturally narrate. She could not say “y’all” without breaking the narrative and flow of the story. Supper distracting.

I love the author but was disappointed with this book. The story lacked suspense and the characters were pretty basic. The mention of Covid was overkill and didn’t need to be referenced after the first couple of times. The narrator paused at odd moments, which ruined the flow of the story throughout the entirety of the listen.
