My biggest issues is just too many plot devices just fell into place, and I could have written the ending almost word for word 2/3rd of the way thru. It did hold my interest for the most part even with the eyeroll parts.

I am in no way a prude, but the constant sexual angst just takes me out of the story. I had planned to stop with Witch With no Name as it was the original ending to the series, I honestly struggled to get to the end of that. This book came up on a sale so I thought I'd see what might be different over the years. I had thought with the original series I liked the worldbuilding, liked most of the secondary characters but just hated Rachel Morgan. I cringed at every single action scene with Rachel lusting after all the fighters rather than freaken fight for her life. I get that vamps control people with pheromones and whatnot, but it's just so awkward, shoehorning the sex vibes in and Rachel does it even when not under vamp vibes, I mean, at more than one point she lust after Jenks. I did make it to the end of the book, with tons of eyerolls, I think the sex angst actually got a bit better in the last half but I'm just done with this series.

I think there might have been an interesting story in here somewhere but the constant angst of Charlie and Lincoln is just too irritating to continue the series.

OK, while I'm "woke" as hell, {can we shut up with the woke as an insult already? Do better people} the political stuff bothers me NOT at all. My issues, is the writing seems really sloppy. We're getting a ton of awkward exposition, the characters are acting out of characters and while they are saying "oh wow, this is out of character for us" I'm not feeling it at all. And why in the heck would mother earth make the arbitrary limitation of the task just being Stacia and Declan and them not accessing any of their physical support, like money. I can't decide if I can go further. Some of this is just cringe. I'm also REALLY not a fan of flashback style stories.

I have liked Penny Reid's series in the past but I had to give up on this one just over 2/3 way in. It doesn't seem like there was much going on but a lot of boring angst.

I just could not get through it. I gave up at the half way mark. The female was actually regressing and becoming even more of a wuss, the guy was insufferable. Absolutely no one was developing at all. The poor reader was pretty good.

It's hard to even follow the story the reader is so bad. The baby talk is so bad it makes my teeth hurt and as a born and raised southerner the very very bad southern accent actually offends me.

I really like Penny Reid but this one is a miss. Kaitlyn {female lead} is just beyond dense. I had to stop listening.

I enjoyed book 1 and 3. Even this book has some funny bits in it but I could not finish. Heroine, who was not too bad in book 1 became insufferable in this book.

While I would not search out Alison Larkin to listen to, I am becoming more used to the tone of her voice.

I generally like Julia Quinn as a writer. This one just wasn't good. After a promising start, both leads became very unlikable. Turner turned into a jerk. His last minute epiphany was weak at best. Amanda was a doormat. Every time it looked like she might get a backbone it just faded away.

Jenny Sterlin did a very good job narrating.
