Story
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

I really liked the plot line but why the heck would you turn this into a ridiculous teen girl sex scene. Basically ruined the whole book having to skip entire sex scene chapters.

Story
The Galactics arrived with their Battle Fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined a vast Empire that spanned the Milky Way. Today, Battle Fleet 921 is returning to Earth. It hasn't been seen by human eyes since our blissful day of Annexation. But what should be a joyful occasion, a chance to grovel at the feet of superior lifeforms, is rapidly becoming a nightmare.

Story
The Wizard's Council of Tarador was supposed to tell young Koren Bladewell that he is a wizard. They were supposed to tell everyone that he is not a jinx, that all the bad things that happen around him are because he can't control the power inside him, power he doesn't know about. The people of his village, even his parents, are afraid of him, afraid he is cursed. That he is a dangerous, evil jinx.

Great Start to hopefully great Series

I really love the plot line behind this book. I have only one complaint which appears to be the same complaint many others have and that is the failure over and over to clear up misunderstandings that normally would either never happen or that people would normally ask about as a character. One or two misunderstandings at key times is what makes a story but over and over is something else especially early on when there is an impression of great trust between key characters.
Craig explains most of these misunderstandings away but some of them were hard to choke down.
All that being said the story is still very sound and will enjoy this going forward as the next books become available. Would like to see the books a little longer with as much potential content availe in the story.

Story
Danny North is the first Gate Mage to be born on Earth in nearly 2,000 years, or at least the first to survive and claim his power, for families of Westil in exile on Earth have a treaty that requires the death of any suspected Gate Mage. The wars between the families had been terrible until at last they realized it was their own survival in question. But a Gate Mage, one who could build a Great Gate back to Westil, would give his own family a terrible advantage over all the others and reignite the wars. So it was decided that they all had to die.

Disappointing to see the series end this way.
Reviewed: 04-12-16
To end this series like this just baffles me there is so much more to be told or places to take it. I have to admit it was quite imaginative how everything was tied together in a pretty bow to end the series but it just felt like an out for Orson to end the series.
