Story
It isn't enough to keep the Finch family in Twin Falls, caged in by the conspiracy of cults and the elder gods they kill and dance for. The Twelve families want more. They want more power, more control, and to build a foothold for their legacies on Earth. When the Murphy family lost a young son to the Abrahamson family in the battle versus the alien god Knife Eyes they demanded justice, but the council said no. So in service to the ancient god Danu, they seek to usurp the very genetic line of Diggory Finch to amplify their control over the machinations of Twin Falls.

This is one of those books you wish was just a fun, pleasant read. Great story line. Good pacing. Interesting, well-developed characters.... And then you remember who wrote it and that there's way too much truth in it to be comfortable.

Story
The Warden Kevin Whitten and Harold Parker met in London, England 'that day.' The day the dead stopped dying, and long before they managed their way back to America, to Adrian Ring and the test they would all face together. The only reason Kevin and company survived their helicopter crash in Covent Garden was the sacrifice of a small unit of Royal Marines. This is their story. London Burns follows the story of Hal and Kevin, parallel to the AUD story London, and beyond.

My only complaint is that this isn't any longer. <3
I love this addition to the AUD series. I enjoy hearing side tales and backstories, so the "Tales from the World of..." series is totally my cup of tea.
And I haven't read the Elmoryn series yet, so that extra short story may provoke another dive into the worlds of one of my favorite authors.

Love Lockey and Nate and little Particles
Reviewed: 11-02-23
I don't often re-listen to books, but this one has sucked me back in. I had forgotten how much I enjoy this series. I'm an AUD fan, and I love this view from across the pond. Lockey is a hoot, I love Nate, and Particles is just the best! I can't wait to read the next installments.
Side note: I found that 1.2 speed is the right one for me. Normal speed is too soothing, and 1.5 is too frenetic and stresses me out. I've never monkeyed with the speed setting to change my listening experience, but someone in a previous review suggested it, and I found 1.2 is the sweet spot for me on this book. I love this narrator. She does a fantastic job, and I hope she sticks around for the other million books I hope to see out of this author. Keep them coming!

Story
Everyone has that one line they swear they’ll never cross, the one thing they say they’ll never do. We draw the line. Maybe we even believe it. Sage Hendricks was my line. Logan Witherspoon befriends Sage Hendricks at a time when he no longer trusts or believes in people. He's drawn to Sage, with her constant smile and sexy voice, and his feelings for her grow so strong that he can’t resist kissing her. Sage finally discloses a big secret: She was born a boy. Enraged, frightened, and feeling betrayed, Logan lashes out at her.

Not gonna lie.
That first 30-45 minutes was a slog through the description and story set up. I almost quit, and I kinda wished I had a physical book to skim.
Don't get me wrong. It was beautifully written and quite vivid, but I was waiting for plotline.
I'm SO GLAD I stuck with it. Loved the story line and the development of the main character and his relationships and family. Loved the description of how messed up life is for that generation and how they experienced the history-making events of their time. I'm a smidge older than these characters, but it resonates so much. You perfectly expressed it.
Thank you for writing this ❤️
