I enjoyed the story but the female narrator had some weird inflections and an irritating laugh. Would still recommend though.

Overall I enjoyed the story and the twist at the end. However the narrator insisted on delivering the FMC’s lines as bratty/ argumentative/ complaining more than half the time, so I had to spend some extra effort to separate the poor choice of line delivery from what was actually going on in the scene. When I was able to do that I found the FMC much less annoying than how she was portrayed. I’d still recommend this, though.

Story
Lt. Eve Dallas is just home from a long overdue vacation when she responds to a call of an unattended death. The victim is Martin Greenleaf, retired Internal Affairs Captain. At first glance, the scene appears to be suicide, but the closer Eve examines the body, the more suspicious she becomes. An unlocked open window, a loving wife and family, a too-perfect suicide note—Eve's gut says it's a homicide. After all, Greenleaf put a lot of dirty cops away during his forty-seven years in Internal Affairs. It could very well be payback—and she will not rest until the case is closed.

Story
My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy - a school of myths, magic, and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody's head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest. But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things.

The story had a lot of potential but fell short. I kept getting bored and turning it off. The narrator had some overly-cartoony voices for some of the characters - very annoying. I was hoping to like this more than I did, but I won’t be continuing with the series.

The company of the Ring is torn asunder. Frodo and Sam continue their journey alone down the great River Anduin - alone, that is, save for the mysterious creeping figure that follows wherever they go. This continues the classic tale begun in The Fellowship of the Ring, which reaches its awesome climax in The Return of the King.
