Story
With an ailing mother to care for, Lisa Grant takes the first job she can find: research assistant to District Attorney Scott Buchanan. What Lisa expects to be a mind-numbingly boring task turns into anything but when a missing-persons case draws her attention. The details of the case are engrossing: an entire family — father, mother, and two children — disappeared without a trace more than 28 years ago. Except that’s not all: the mother in a photo Lisa finds could be her own twin.

Dragged a lot wasn't my favorite but I love the narrator. It was too much of a love story than a mystery.

Love Dina Perlman but...
Reviewed: 07-08-14
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Dina Perlman is great but Lucy is a lifelong Massachusetts resident and Dina has a southern accent
What was one of the most memorable moments of Truly, Madly?
I'm midway through and enjoying the story
Would you be willing to try another one of Dina Pearlman’s performances?
She's great as Savannah Reid in that series but I may not continue with this series. I'm from Massachusetts and for some reason the narration is irritating to me
Was Truly, Madly worth the listening time?
Yes

Good story the narrator over pronounced T and D
Reviewed: 02-16-14
What did you love best about Board Stiff?
Cute cozy mystery
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I'm still listening
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Rachel Frawley?
Caroline Schaffer or anyone
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not really
Any additional comments?
The narrators over pronounced T and D sounds were so frequent distracting and maddening at times. I probably won't listen to the next in the series because of the narration.

Story
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

What is the Hype About?
Reviewed: 08-01-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A better story line. I did not find this book they are calling the book of the summer to be interesting or engaging. The characters were unlikable and it was very slow going back and forth through narrations and thoughts. It's unfortunate because I was hoping to like this author since she seems quite popular.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I'm listening to Spying in High Heels - nice fluffy chick lit with a mystery twist. My kind of summer reading (or listening)
Which character – as performed by Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne – was your favorite?
Neither - they were not likable in the least
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Not really, it does get better towards the middle and end but still very boring and I thought it was predictable.
Any additional comments?
I would consider taking a listen to the exerpt before wasting a credit on this book.

Selected a narrator that had a younger voice and better acting skills
How could the performance have been better?
I just did not find the narrators voice good for the story, it ruined it for me
