Nell Dysart's in trouble. Her divorce is 18 months old, she's been sleepwalking through life, and the best job she can get is with a detective agency that specializes in relationship work. Determined to turn her life around, Nell flings herself into making McKenna Investigations a better place.
On day one, she uncovers an embezzler. On day two, she turns up bribery. On day three, she has sex with the wrong man. On day four, she steals a dog. On day five, her boss tries to fire her... And fails miserably. Because even Gabe McKenna has to admit that no matter how much he hates the confusion she's brought into his life, Nell shares his passion for making things right.
It's not long before they share another passion, one they can't ignore - even in the face of distractions like adultery, blackmail, arson, murder, and really bad business cards.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. The title is misleading. The female characters are bimbos, and the narrator sounds like my grandma. I don't want to hear my grandma reading steamy love scenes to me.Would you recommend Fast Women to your friends? Why or why not?
No. The title is misleading. The female characters are bimbos, and the narrator sounds like my grandma. I don't want to hear my grandma reading steamy love scenes to me.How could the performance have been better?
A younger narrator who uses different voice inflections for each character. All the men had the same monotone sound and all the women sounded the same.Could you see Fast Women being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I don't know. I was too distracted by the narration.Disappointing Narrator

This is the third time I have read this story, and first time I listened to it. It only gets better.
The narrator did an amazing job, I just wanted to keep hearing her voice. Her way of distinguishing the different characters was perfect in my opinion. One of the best narrators I have listened to.
A romance that has it all

All the characters introduced in Fast Women were funny and somewhat realistic. I could at least see myself knowing some of them; however, for it being placed in 2000, some of the ideals that the women had on marriage and men seemed a little outdated in my opinion. One thing that annoyed me about the writing was that Crusie used, "He said" and "She said" too much, so much so that it was a little distracting. Even in a long conversation between two characters, she would use it constantly. Eventually, I did get used to it, for I wanted to see how the story ended. And thankfully it wrapped up nicely and completely, leaving no hanging ends, though seemed a bit rushed.
The narration was okay. I have definitely heard better. I loved Burr's sass and depth that she gave to the female characters. Yet, a lot of the men sounded the same and it was hard for me to tell the difference between the characters. Overall, Fast Women was a good book, especially since it was on sale. Just don't except anything amazing.
A Good Buy from a Sale, Nothing Great Though
