I like my sex dirty. It takes a hell of a lot to tilt my moral compass, and I always follow when it's pointing at something I want. That goes double when it points straight at the one girl in all of Chicago who's not dying for a piece of me.

Story
“Give me a second chance, babe . . . and I’ll blow your mind.” Monroe doesn’t know why she answers the text that’s obviously meant for someone else. Or why she keeps answering. Maybe it’s because she’s all alone in a big city and in desperate need of a lifeline. Or maybe it’s because each exchange leaves her intrigued and more than a little turned on. Still, Monroe never would’ve snarked back if she’d known she was talking to the “Golden Boy” of the Dallas Knights.

Bad turn of events
Reviewed: 09-09-24
Towards the end, the main male character turned into an obsessive and dangerous person. I hate to ruin the story but I was totally caught off guard and was so shocked and disgusted with the turn of events it took me two days to get over the abrupt turn of the story line. Unless you enjoy bondage and kidnapping don’t waste your time.

Story
I sold my soul for a hamburger. And I have no regrets. When a girl is trapped indefinitely in an elevator with a smoking hot burger and an empty stomach, even the strongest of women will crumble. The story goes like this: Bradley Hamilton, former professional hockey player and the most frustrating human alive, offered me half of his hamburger in exchange for a date. I took him up on the offer - while under duress - and now I'm stuck with the consequences. Specifically, the scorching kiss that has me drooling for more.

Genuine, Laugh-Out-Loud Banter

Very believable back and forth banter with the male and female leads. Female is quite irritating with her habit of making everything a mountain -hilariously so. Male is calm, collected at all times.

Story
Racer McKay is a broody bastard. From the moment I met him, he's been rude, irritable, and unbearable. And worse? He's broke. A contractor working to remodel my parents pool house for extra cash, he stomps around in those clunky construction boots with his tool belt wrapped around his narrow waist, and a chip on his shoulder. Racer McKay is also infuriatingly...sexy as hell. I want to take that pencil tucked behind his ear, and draw lazy lines slowly up and down his body all the while wanting to strangle him at the same time.

He is Worse than NO narrator at all!
Reviewed: 06-15-24
This narrator thinks that if you talk through your nose, that is a good method of changing narrative voices. Wrong! By talking through his nose, it gives a cartoon character feel to that voice. And when that character is the main male lead, it disrupts the complete book. Don’t waste your credit.

Story
Word to the wise, never become roommates with a girl you’ve been pining over for the better part of a year. You're probably wondering why I would do such a thing? Well, I didn’t. It was my teammates. The moment they found out Blakely White was single, they took it upon themselves to play cupid and instruct me on how I should win her over. Don't wear a shirt around her. Make her dinner. Lightly touch her shoulder when you say goodbye. I'm so flustered, so overwhelmed, so madly in love with this woman who barely notices me.

The narration of this book was terrible. Lilly did not give off any romantic vibes. Bruce sounded like he was reading to a child. And the dog’s narration sounded like someone had something caught in their throat. Because the dog narration was so ridiculous the com part of this rom-com was completely missing.
