Story
Can the Broken Ever Truly be Redeemed? As a child, Lana Harrington loved the Lord. But then life happened, and Lana didn’t want anything to do with religion or Christ. As the owner of a successful cookie shop, one would think that things are perfect for the beautiful Lana. But outside appearances are often deceptive — just a mask for the turmoil that is really going on inside a person’s heart, soul, and mind. When Lana decides to take a hard look at her sense of spirituality, she starts to feel as if something is wrong, something is missing. Sometimes, when a sista seems broken beyond...

Great story of a broken yet graceful young woman finding peace again

I loved the story, but the virtual voice isn’t great. It didn’t take away, but an actual narrator would really elevate the experience.

Beautiful Story of Acceptance and Forgiveness

The story was great and so was the narration. I enjoyed every second of this book. A well told journey through pain, rejection, and loneliness that led to growth, acceptance, and love.

This is a well-written story. I had to put myself in Ifem’s shoes to help me accept the way black American women were portrayed. I would have liked to see more of a variety there. However, this did not take away from the story. I would recommend this book.

Beautiful story of reuniting with loves ones

I loved the flow of this story. The author gave a sufficient amount of info about each sibling and how they’re lives played out after being separated. I could barely stop listening. KVS is one of my favorite authors. Once again, I was highly impressed with her writing!

Story
"Close your eyes, Ela of Parne. Close your eyes and you will see." Ela Roeh of Parne doesn't understand why her beloved Creator, the Infinite, wants her to become His prophet. She’s undignified, bad tempered, and only 17 - not to mention that no prophet of Parne has ever been a girl. Worst of all, as the elders often warn, if she agrees to become the Infinite's prophet, Ela knows she will die young. "Istgard has turned their back on Me. See the evil they do."

Couldn’t finish it
Reviewed: 07-10-18
The story line for this book is mediocre. I think the narrator is a little too bubbly for what the character should be. I thought I was reading Christian fiction, but it was too questionable, so I did not finish the book.
