Story
When boy genius Garrett Gee started working for the federal government at age 15, he figured fame and fortune were only a stone's throw away. Despite impressive credentials and enormous potential in the world of computer hacking, Gee found himself years later as just another salaried employee. He soon realized that though he was a hacker at work, he was a slacker when it came to leading his own life. But as soon as he applied his meticulous hacker mindset to his personal life, everything changed—and success rolled in quickly.

overall a great book but the guy who reads it needs to pick up the pace. I almost feel like he thought he was reading a dr Seuss book with his enunciation and slow reading style...
But, the content was worth bearing it out!

Drawing from research and concepts from computer science, artificial intelligence, video games, quantum physics, and referencing both speculative fiction and ancient eastern spiritual texts, Virk shows how all of these traditions come together to point to the idea that we may be inside a simulated reality like the Matrix.

Story
The story of Doyle Brunson, an American treasure and the greatest poker player of all time, is one for the ages. It’s a story of guts and glory, of good luck and bad, of triumph and unspeakable tragedy, of courage and grace. He has survived whippings, gun fights, stabbings, mobsters (the real-life ones portrayed in the movie Casino), murderers, and a death sentence when, riddled with incurable cancer, he was given months to live by doctors who told him his hand was played out.

Story
Why are we here? What's the point of existence? On the "big questions" of meaning and purpose, Western thought has been dominated by the dichotomy of traditional religion and secular atheism. In this pioneering work, Philip Goff argues that it is time to move on from both God and atheism. Through an exploration of contemporary cosmology and cutting-edge philosophical research on consciousness, Goff argues for cosmic purpose: the idea that the universe is directed towards certain goals, such as the emergence of life.

If you've heard his podcast, then you know what he's about and where he stands. It feels like this book just takes his podcast to another level. overall, I think he did a good job defending his positions and offering up proofs. I wholly agree with other reviews though in that he added a whole chapter on taxation that had 0 to add or do with the real topic at hand.

Story
Social psychologist and Professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business Brian Lowery argues for the radical idea that the “self” as we know it, does not exist. The self—that “voice in your head”—is a social construct, created in our relationships and social interactions. We are unique because our individual pattern of relationships is unique. We change because our relationships change. Your self isn’t just you, it’s all around you.

while this may be a useful book to set yourself up when things are coming to an end in life...I thought this was going to go more in depth to end of life care stories in hospitals, how to handle that personally/psychologically, or things along those lines. This is literally a book covering setting up wills, final wishes, etc.
