Story
On a bitterly cold afternoon in December 1986, a Michigan State trooper found the frozen body of Jerry Tobias in the bed of his pickup truck. The 31-year-old oil field worker and small-time drug dealer was clad only in jeans, a checkered shirt, and cowboy boots. Inside the cab of the truck was a fresh package of expensive steaks from a local butcher shop, the first lead in a case that would be quickly lost in a thicket of bungled forensics, shady prosecution, and a psychopathic star witness out for revenge.

Who was your favorite character and why?
I couldn't finish the book to even pick a favorite character
What didn’t you like about Jim McCance’s performance?
Narrator Jim McCance's voice is monotone, he drags words and reads so slow it made my ears and head hurt,
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment, because the actual story like is great. The events are very interesting. This book was ruined by narration only for me.

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Story
In the Tall Grass begins with a sister and brother who pull off to the side of the road after hearing a young boy crying for help from beyond the tall grass. Within minutes they are disoriented, in deeper than seems possible, and they've lost one another. The boy's cries are more and more desperate. What follows is a terrifying, entertaining, and masterfully told tale, as only Stephen King and Joe Hill can deliver.

At Mile 81 on the Maine turnpike is a boarded up rest stop, a place where high school kids drink and get into the kind of trouble high school kids have always gotten into. It’s the place where Pete Simmons goes when his older brother, who’s supposed to be looking out for him, heads off to the gravel pit to play “paratroopers over the side”. Pete, armed only with the magnifying glass he got for his 10th birthday, finds a discarded bottle of vodka in the boarded up burger shack and drinks enough to pass out.

This book is HORRIBLE!
Reviewed: 08-02-15
What would have made Hair of the Bitch better?
The sample audio of this book must be for a different book. This story makes no sense and the only reason I listened as long as I did was because I hoped the story would begin to at least make sense.
What was most disappointing about Jeff Menapace’s story?
This story is just weird and unbelieveable. The narrator's impersonation of different characters (especially females) is terrible. The inner voice speaking to the main character is stupid and weird.
How could the performance have been better?
Nothing could make this better
